Our owners are Josh and Kathryn Ray, they are the hustle and bustle of Tanner's Pecans and Candies.

Josh loves business and has a Bachelor's in Business, he enjoys numbers, leading people, racing, playing golf with friends, God, and family.

Kathryn is a RN in an assisted living facility, enjoys Andy Griffith, her chihuahua Annabelle, decorating, God, and family.

I think it is extremely important for our customers know who they are dealing with when it comes to us, and I hope we do a decent job at portraying that to our community. We believe in hard work, and our goal is to make all of our customers smile. We want this to feel like home for all of our customers, says Josh.

Did you know pecans are extremely healthy nuts and have been proven recently to be so. Here is some wisdom on your Wednesday morning:

1. Pecans have been certified as a “Heart-Healthy Food” by the American Heart Association1. Why is that, you ask?...

2. Clinical research published in the Journal of Nutrition found that eating a handful of pecans each day may help lower cholesterol levels similar to what is seen with cholesterol-lowering medications. Trading expensive meds for a snack like this? Yes, please!

3. Pecans also reduce the risk of heart disease with an abundance of “good” heart healthy fats. These unsaturated fats can have a protective effect by lowering total blood cholesterol when eaten in moderation.

4. Pecans contain more than 19 vitamins and minerals – including vitamin A, vitamin E, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, several B vitamins and zinc. One ounce of pecans provides 10 percent of the recommended Daily Value for fiber.

5. Pecans are also a natural, high-quality source of protein that contains very few carbohydrates and no cholesterol and are naturally sodium-free.

6. 70% (by weight) of the pecan kernel is made up of oil – which is great news to pecan lovers because studies have shown that pecan oil is very beneficial to reducing the risk of heart disease.

Today is the first day of Mental Health Awareness month and we wanted to do a little check-in. Let us know in the comment section below how you are feeling today?

If you are struggling with mental health try following some of these tips:
🛌 Get out of bed
🚶🏿♂️ Take walks
🥤 Drink water
🍎 Eat healthy
💤Sleep at least 7 hours a night
🧑🤝🧑Spend time with friends and family

If you find yourself still battling mental health, don't hesitate to reach out for help. We all need help at one point in our lives and you should never be ashamed for asking for it. You have so many resources available to you, don't let them go to waste.

Being so delicious and heart healthy is tough work, so it takes a tough pecan to do the job and after a tough screening process, we want you to help us give a HUGE welcome to Mr. Paw-Nee.
