🏡 Nova’s Tip: It’s Termite Season! 🐜
As temperatures rise, so does termite activity — and as a homeowner (or future homeowner), it’s important to stay proactive.
Here’s what you should know:
✅ Get a Termite Inspection: Whether you’re buying, selling, or staying put, a WDIR (Wood Destroying Insect Report) is a smart move this time of year. Early detection can save thousands in repairs.
✅ Look for Signs: Mud tubes along your foundation, hollow-sounding wood, or discarded wings around windows/doors could mean trouble.
✅ Schedule Preventative Treatment: Many pest control companies offer annual plans that include treatment and monitoring — a great investment for peace of mind.
✅ Keep Moisture Away: Termites are drawn to moisture, so be sure to fix leaks, redirect downspouts, and keep wood and mulch away from your home’s foundation.
As your local realtor, I always recommend a termite inspection during the homebuying process — even if it’s not required. It’s one of those small steps that can protect a BIG investment.
