Today, I was supposed to announce that Hey, man. LLC would be attending its first road show vending a small festival out of state. However, due to severe lack of communication from the vendor event organizer, I am not announcing my first road show slinging sauce and things.

I understand that life happens whenever it sees fit, so im not going to totally put them on blast, but I will say that it makes 0 sense to put out a call for vendors for a festival that has appeared to be run successfully for YEARS and then be like, "Ill get back to you with vendor information in the coming weeks."

Now, that response from them came 2 weeks after the initial contact from me stating that I wanted to travel hours to come sell for them at the suggestion of some friends that have played said festival.

Now, as of May 6th, 2026, I have received 0 response to my email. The festival is now inside a month away, and I have 0 information other than "you have room for a normal sized table and maybe a small one." That's it. That is all I have to work with.

Now, I could absof**kinlutely crank out a few new items in that short time frame, and they would be tasty AF, but Im not going to do that if you can't even tell me what the vendor fee might be or my load in time or if the fest takes a cut of sales or if it's cashless or ANY other useful information that should be available to those expressing interest in vending their boutique music festival nestled in hills of central...(Insert state name here)... All of which, anyone with a lick of common sense, should make available BEFORE people expressing interest in vending their boutique music festival nestled in hills of central...(Insert state name here)...

Yeah, I did that last part again for emphasis because it frustrates me to no end, but again, life happens at inopportune times.

I know I should just go ahead and stop this post and immediately inform them that "due to time constraints and lack of pertinent information, I will not be bringing my company and its products to your festival." But, I kinda sorta feel like inconveniencing them by delaying my decision until contacted with that pertinent festival information or just waiting a lil' but longer to make them aware they will be short a vendor, which may have no affect on their event.

How in the f**k to you organize an event and NOT have 100% of the information needed for potential vendors before or at the time of inquiry? This same person probably says, "I know how to run MY business." Are you sure about that, are ya?

Now that I have this off my chest, I do feel a wee but better. But, this is just one thing, one service provider not offering their services in a timely manner. I, and sooooooooo many others, have their business or businesses we are trying to run while holding down full time jobs, some more than 1 full time job at the same time as you know how to run your business...(Insert use of finger air quotes)...

That being said, Ima keep putting up ma boundaries for me personally and MY business that I'm trying to run properly and effectively. Ima prioritize MY business. I cannot control nor change the lack of principle, respect, consideration, and prioritization one has for another.

You degenerates have a blessed day or at least the one you hoped for. 😘😘🖕😈🤣

Now, finally, we join your Wednesday morning safety meeting already in progress.

So, I did another thing. Sign designed by Nan Parati. Nan has been designing signs for festivals in New Orleans for 42 years, most notably The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, aka JAZZFEST!

When Fleurty Girl posted the opportunity to get one of these signs last year, I knew I had to have one for vending set ups. When the post popped up again this year, I ordered one. She's purty...

Thanks for your continued support of a stoner and his hot sauce and stuff.

Stay tuned for an announcement(s) coming soon, y'all!!!

So, I think this is the episode in which Hey, man. sauces will appear. The sauces were used in a "hot ones" type challenge after some frog gigging. I can't really remember the 5 sauces I sold them, maybe Hawt, Flambeaux, Fire, Girls Gone Mild, and definitely Purple Pain for the one to hurt ya.

It will likely be a very short part towards the end of the episode. I gave them some info and the tongue logo. I think it airs on A&E, and I saw it on Hulu, but season 2 isn't there, so there ya go...

Cherry Red cherry hot sauce with dark sweet and a bunch of maracshino cherries, as well as cherry bomb peppers that I lightly charred on the grill. I'd have called it Cherry Bomb 2.0, but CB was a hodge podge of peppers from one of my first purchases. I also threw in some pickled cherry bombs and a handful of fresh garlic cloves.

Black⚡️Gold 2.0 spicey honey mustard with golden cayenne and aji lemon drop peppers, some coarse ground black pepper, black sesame seed, black, mustard seed, and black cumin seeds all dry pan toasted and tossed into LOTS of yellow mustard and white wine dijon, apple cider vinegar, and 2.5 Oz of black garlic paste that looked like 2 giant hash balls...

I will have 5 of the oddball jars for $10 and that fifth for $20. Cash money...

Not a difficult decision. Throwing away the remaining smoked cheese stock. Even though it has been vac sealed and in a cool environment, I'm not taking the risk.

I think the peppers in the deep freeze could be salvageable.

Soon to be hickory smoked salt, chocolate, and 12 blocks of cream cheese...

The salt and chocolate will not be available. One for a friend and the other for the cook. Now, ifin you're wanting some chocolate smoked, I would charge $10 if you provide the choco or $10 plus cost for me to procure...

The salt is for me as well, and I'd smoke some for the same as the chocolate. Yeah. Thats a grease, pop-screen from the $1.25 Tree.

That may seem like a lot. I don't even know. Haven't googled. This is where folks start paying for ma time.

When I got finished processing White Light⚡️White Heat, the ph was at almost 5. Garlic has very little acidity, leaving it prone to botulism. Thus, I did not bottle. I proceeded to order some phosphoric acid used in brewing to lower to a shelf stable level. However, I gave in to my impatient and got some citric acid.

Dropped the sauce in a pot, warmed 'er up, and added about 1/2 a teaspoon of citric powder. pH dropped to 3.6 and didnt really influence flavor, which you know is ma thing.

Had a couple of previous sauces that kept fermenting in bottle, and they "weaponized". I was told they were still very tasty. With those, it was paramount to not f**k with the flavor of the peppers used. That is where the phosphoric acid will come into use instead of adding citrus juice or vinegar to achieve shelf stability.

WL⚡️WH and Mr. Green Jeans will be part of a special set, along with a 3rd, to be unveiled to the public on St. Paddy's Day...😳🤔🇮🇪🍀🌶😉🤤

Comin' soon to a café near you...

I was gonna try and squeeze in one more sauce pop up for the year, but I've decided that I am 110% done creating for 2025. The thirsty farmer event went as anticipated, so we're going out with that.

There will be more smoked cheeses. Have 12 blocks of cream just waiting for that smoke, and things might get EXTRA sharp. Might even make my own to smoke. Gonna spice some up with different seasonings for cold and baked blocks.

Might even smoke some butter...😳😳😳

In the sauce world, ima bring at least one of the OGs back. Ima also get into bbq'ing some meats like ribs, some butts, and definitely more pork bellies (with or without the skins). Though not needed, im thinking of injecting a belly for FLAVOR. I got an idea for a burger that'll knock yur draws off.

Homemade vanilla extracts? I know it's just vanilla beans and booze but different alcohols for different flavors. Easy but takes some time. Baking, cooking, coffee, tea, cocktails...

Bourbon, rum (silver/spiced), vodka, tequila...

Maybe a spiced extract with fresh herbs like rosemary and/or fenugreek...🤔🤔🤔

I ditched keeping a notebook for recipes and idea because things were getting lost. It was feeling too much like work. I want this thing to grow and flourish, but I absolutely do not want it to be another job. One can be chaotic enough. This is respite from the everyday, for the in-between times.

Lastly, every cook starts with "Alexa play Franklin's Tower" by The Grateful Dead.

Speaking of. Ima roll one and roll away the dew...

Many, MANY thanks to you all... Hey, man.

Well s**t y'all. It wasnt a sellout, but it was a really good. Made over $400 @ thirstyFarmer yesterday. Most of the customers were 1st timers. I only knew 2 people that stopped by, my last 2 sales as a matter of fact. Even slipped the owner a sauce gift set after packing up.

I will go back.

Pre-real job safety meeting already in progress...

All sauces and remaining smoked cheeses NOW available. Get at me here or Instagram: heymanllc.
