We are a quaint little factory nestled in the rolling hills of Green County. Founded in 1885 by five dairy farmers, Chalet Cheese Cooperative continues to flourish as one of the United States oldest cheese cooperatives. Our cheese making facility is owned by thirteen dairy farm members (patrons) who are the sole suppliers of the milk to the facility. All of our patrons are located within Green Cou

nty, Wisconsin, and are providing fresh milk daily to the cheese factory. Chalet Cheese is known for producing unique flavored cheeses through an artisan approach, master cheesemaking knowledge, and a Swiss cheesemaking heritage. We specialize in producing Baby Swiss, Limburger, Wisconsin Brick, Swiss, and smoked versions of these cheeses. We are proud to say that we are the only producer of Limburger in the United States. Our foil brick, with a surfaced ripened smear, is an example of our innovation and we are continuing to develop new cheese varieties for consumers to try. The quality of our cheese is well recognized, winning over one hundred awards in competitions at Regional, State, National, and International contests.

In fact, Chalet Cheese Co-Op in Monroe, Wisconsin is the ONLY location in the United States that this earthy washed rind beauty is crafted. From royalty, to the news, sharing our cheese, laughs, stories, and a bit of rain..Chalet Cheese would like to thank all of our customers, new and old for making Cheese Days 2024 one for the books!

Hang on....we're not done yet! This weekend we will be in New Glarus for Oktoberfest with Chalet Cheese Haus serving some of the best grilled cheese you can eat on Friday and Saturday and also downtown Madison at The Art of Cheese Featival on Saturday.

This is a fantastic event to attend and what could be any better than sampling the best of Chalet Cheese championship cheeses!!

The fabulous folks of Chalet Cheese Haus will be at the Cheese Fair Off The Square in downtown Madison! They're known for making traditional classics like Limburger and Leiderkranz, and their baby swiss is a MUST TRY when given the chance. Stop by their tent on September 28, 2024, to sample, meet and purchase!
