A little over six years ago when we were just weeks away from closing on the Ruef’s business, W***y Ruef passed away. It truly saddened us as we really wanted him to see all the things we had planned for his Meat Market. We decided out of respect to W***y and the Ruef family that we would continue to use their name on our business. What W***y brought to the sausage world was amazing. He truly deserved for his name to live on. His skills, talents, recipes, and legacy, will continue on with us. When Chris and I bought the new building for our “Ruef’s” business, we knew their was another man whose name in the meat world deserved just as much respect. Mike Buol! Not only does this man have the most amazing skills, he is also all around a wonderful human being. With an all around love for the industry, and a passion that shines through in his work. A business partner unlike anyone we could have ever imagined. The undying patience this man has in teaching me everything he knows, and never doubting in us. He is truly everything to our company, and to us personally. With every bit of respect to this man, we decided to name our new location after him, and there’s where the “Buol’s Bristled Pig” name arrived. We love you so much Mike and thank you, for all you do, and for truly holding us together!
