We've done the work of growing it, now it's your turn to keep that fresh from the farm crunch! Once you get it home, here are some tips!

1. Control the Moisture: πŸ’§Moisture is the enemy of crisp lettuce! If you wash your greens before storing, make sure they are completely dry. Store the leaves in a container lined with paper towels to absorb any excess water, or use a salad spinner. If you prefer not to wash it first, that works too-just keep it dry until you're ready to eat!

2. Keep lettuce alone: πŸ₯¬ Keep your leafy greens away from produce like avocados, apples, and bananas. These fruits release ethylene. It speeds up ripening. Because lettuce is highly sensitive to ethylene, storing it near these items will cause it to spoil and turn brown much faster.

3. Don't Prep Too early:πŸ”ͺ Keep the head of lettuce attached to the stem for as long as possible. Don't chop or cut the leaves until you are ready to use them. If you have leftovers, wrap the loose leaves gently in a paper towel blanket inside a container to protect them.
