This poor little guy (or maybe gal, don’t know yet!) has a pretty bad scissor beak (also known as a cross beak). He’s been isolated to prevent bullying at the feeder, and so far is doing okay and loves to help with evening barn chores and hang with the cats. This is a genetic/congenital condition that cannot be cured but can be managed by providing deep food dishes, access to food 24/7 and beak trims.

Sweet stinky Little Bit came back to get his splint off and x-rays showed his shoulder is still in place! 🤞it stays that way!! He loved us so much he didn’t want to leave 😝

Did you know we can approximate due dates based on fetal body measurements on ultrasound? We strongly recommend doing progesterones prior to breeding dates to confirm ovulation as well as due dates, as due dates are 63 days (+/- 1 day) from ovulation, not the breeding date!
