It’s that time of the season to start thinking about collecting seeds for next season. Zinnias are especially fun—They are kind of like your proverbial box of chocolates. With the bees doing their thing, the magic of cross-pollination happens, and you never know what you’ll get when you plant them next year . We had a wonderful vacation last week and then, unfortunately, came home to a not-so-wonderful mess in the flower beds. The wind and storms have created a big mess, but fortunately all is not lost. That being said, we are taking at least this Saturday off from the Monticello Iowa Farmers Market so we can clean things up and hopefully, if we can get a little ☀️, the flowers will perk up. Thanks for understanding!🌸

Just a girl and her flowers…in the rain ☔️ Some days you’ve got to make your own sunshine, so pull on those rain boots, grab an umbrella, and think of it as an adventure. As my grandma says, You won’t melt! You can grab your bouquet at Roast & Toast this weekend, at Monticello Iowa Farmers Market this morning from 8-11, or for the first time I’m collaborating with our neighbors The Humble Hardscrabble Homestead Co. with Kristin and bouquets will be available this morning at her farm stand. Go out and make some sunshine ☀️ 😊🌸
