It’s hard to photograph the raised-with-love meat that is sold at this market.

It’s one of the reasons we make cooking videos- to really show off the brilliance.

But there are more than a half dozen farmers that bring the most amazing meats here. Every kind you can imagine, all raised and processed with absolute devotion to quality and quality of life.

And given the price of meat at the big box grocery stores, you will be pleasantly surprised with what you find here. Plus, you just absolutely cannot beat the flavor.

Well cared for things are obvious. They live and thrive in ways that abused things without healing could never.

This is so important for our life. And we are modeling that here with the things our vendors bring you every market day.

It’s the seasons of Vermont that make us appreciate the preciousness of everything.

Nothing is static here.

Even now, we can feel summer coming to a close. Rather than fearing or resisting that, we lean into each season, knowing there is light and shadow in every one.

farmers are familiar with this. Good Community is familiar with this. A good community is living. A world of justice, and a life of joy, demand our ability to grow in tandem with our environment.

We hope you will join us today, and see the example we are trying to set.

If you want an example of generosity, go to the farmers.

These people share like they’ve learned a secret. That giving must be important. Sharing must be powerful and valuable.

This is what we mean when we say a good Farmers Market is a pop-up community.

We are trying hard here to model a world where we all get to share delicious and nutritious foods, to fill our lives with beautiful things, and to hold care-centered relationships with each other.

Join us, won’t you?

Tasty bokchoy from Kayleigh Boyle & Doug Wolcik.

You can’t beat the food that comes from our special slice of earth here, among these green mountains.

These are 1 billion year-old mountains, and I’m convinced that when matched with the care and devotion of our local farmers, this soil produces pieces of art.

Find it at the Capital City Farmers Market every Saturday until November. 9 AM to 1 PM. 133 State Street. Montpelier, Vermont.
