Due to an increase of questions about the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), please see the important information below.

• Applicants must apply online at https://agi.alabama.gov/farmersmarket/
• Applicants must reapply every year.
• Applicants must be 60 years of age or older on the day of application.
• Applicants’ gross household income must not exceed these limits:
o $2,248 monthly … for a household of … 1
o $3,041 monthly … for a household of … 2
o $4,109 monthly … for a household of ... 3
o $4,958 monthly … for a household of ... 4

Unfortunately, applications cannot be taken over the phone or by mail.

You will need your card number to renew that card and submit your application. If eligible and your application submission is completed, a benefit card will be mailed to the address provided on the application for new recipients.

We would like all our customers and seniors to know that registration is now open for the Seniors Benefits Card. Don’t wait, complete your application now.
The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides eligible seniors with a $50 benefit card to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from certified farmers at farmers markets and food stands in Alabama. Previous card holders can keep the original card but MUST reapply, along with any new seniors, online at agi.alabama.gov/farmers-market/ to receive funding. This program is available on a first come first serve basis, so apply now!

Moody Market will have a Pop-Up Market today, Friday, November 14th, 1-4, at the Moody City Park under the pavilion. There will be sweet potatoes, tomatoes, jams, cookies, artisan breads, bagels, cakes, apple pocket pies, soaps, etc.
Stop by and pick up something for Thanksgiving or for someone special. Thank you for supporting our vendors and farmers.

The Moody Market will have a Pop-Up Market on Friday, November 14th, 1:00-4:00 at the Moody City Park under the pavilion. In addition to the farm fresh produce we will have available, we will also have the best baked goods in town. Cakes, cookies, bagels, artisan breads, pie pockets and special treats for you and the kids. They are so delicious you don’t want to miss it!

The Moody Market will have a Fall Pop-Up Market on Friday, November 14th, 1:00-4:00, at the Moody City Park under the pavilion. We will have sweet potatoes for your Thanksgiving dinner, also the last harvest of tomatoes. You can pick up fresh sourdough bread, homemade apple butter and low sugar muscadine jelly.

I’ve had several people ask if some of their favorite vendors will be at the Moody Market today. Yes, our bakers will be at the Moody Market Pop-Up today, Friday, October 24th, 1:00-4:00, at the Moody City Park under the pavilion. Here are just a few of the special treats you can find at the Moody Market; apple pie pockets, zucchini, sourdough, pumpkin bread, white chocolate bread pudding, peach cobbler, five flavor pound cake, butter pound cake, brown sugar toffee pound cake, mud cake, strawberry cake, apple cake, hummingbird cake, Halloween treats and macarons and gluten free/ sugar free cookies. Plus delicious homemade muscadine jelly and peach preserves.

The Moody Market is back with a Fall Pop-Up! They have been harvesting their Fall produce and you can buy farm fresh sweet potatoes, bell peppers, banana peppers, poblano peppers, carmen peppers, tomatoes, pears, and 5 varieties of apples, plus green peanuts. The Market will be open today, Friday, October 24, 1:00-4:00, at the Moody City Park under the pavilion. Please support your local farmers.

One of the best things about Fall is apples! There is nothing better than farm fresh, just picked, crisp, sweet apples. The first bite is the best. I also enjoy my apples in a cake, in a pie with ice cream or in a fried pie. Tomorrow the Moody Market will have several varieties of apples for sale.
