Yesterday evening we turned the cows out into a field full of lush green grass. There’s something peaceful about sitting and watching them enjoy those big mouthfuls of fresh spring grass after a long day.
But as we watched, we noticed one little calf just wasn’t acting like himself. We brought him in, gave him plenty of TLC, and drenched him with electrolytes, hoping he’d pull through.
Sadly, he didn’t make it through the night.
Sweet Lizzy lost her calf. He was born March 5th, so this one caught us by surprise and we’re really not sure what happened. Farm life can be full of beautiful moments, but it can also bring heartbreak when you least expect it. 💔
