Linton-Hornbeck_Homestead Farming/homestead in the Appalachian. We have cattle, pigs, chickens, and we also have ducks that have settled in and made their home here at the farm.

Gardening and processing our own food is one of my favorite things to do.

🚨 BRANDON HAS BEEN LOCATED 🚨

Witnesses say he was last seen wandering through a pasture with a suspiciously large group of cows, repeatedly saying he was “just checking on them.” 🐄

After a lengthy investigation, authorities confirmed he’s been hiding in plain sight this whole time… and honestly, he isn’t hiding very well. 👀

🔎 Your mission: find Brandon in the picture.

🏆 Reward: bragging rights and absolutely zero cash value.

Bashful welcomed a big healthy heifer calf this morning! 🐮💗 Mama did a great job, and everyone is doing well. A good start to the day and another blessing in the pasture.

One season of farm life ends while another begins. The last of the hogs headed out this morning, all while new life is arriving in the pasture. We’ll miss having those pigs around, but we’re enjoying a little calm before baby pig season starts back up. 🐷🐮💕

I DO NOT OWN RIGHTS TO MUSIC.

Milly-24 had her first calf yesterday evening, and she’s doing an ok job as a first-time momma. That little calf, though, is something else — definitely a flight risk 🤣 You make one move toward it and it's already halfway across the pasture! 🐄💨

Yesterday evening we turned the cows out into a field full of lush green grass. There’s something peaceful about sitting and watching them enjoy those big mouthfuls of fresh spring grass after a long day.

But as we watched, we noticed one little calf just wasn’t acting like himself. We brought him in, gave him plenty of TLC, and drenched him with electrolytes, hoping he’d pull through.

Sadly, he didn’t make it through the night.
Sweet Lizzy lost her calf. He was born March 5th, so this one caught us by surprise and we’re really not sure what happened. Farm life can be full of beautiful moments, but it can also bring heartbreak when you least expect it. 💔

🐓 FREE ROOSTERS 🐓

I have 4 mixed-breed roosters available, about 7 months old. They’ve all been calm and well-behaved—no aggression issues. The only reason I’m rehoming them is because I simply have too many.

📍 Pickup only (no delivery)

You can almost hear the land breathe a sigh of relief 🌧️🌱

We were so dry for this time of year, and this rain finally came through right when we needed it. The creeks are running again and the cows couldn’t be happier!

Alright… I’d say that’ll do for now 😄 A few sunny days would be just about perfect to soak it all in and keep everything growing strong.
