Greetings to the Morristown Market followers, vendors and shoppers. Regretfully, the market will not be continuing this year. Due to personal reasons we have had to step away from the market and have had no offers to take over its management.
Our thanks go out to all of you who supported us in various ways. Although we are sorry to see the market close, it has been an enjoyable and rewarding process for the seasons we had.
We wish each of you a very safe and happy summer and we hope to see you again at some other market.
Sincerely,
Former Morristown Market Managers.

Saturday was the last market for the 2025 season and was overcast and rainy. Only four of our regular vendors were present, but we thank them for their presence and support. We also were pleased to have a visit by Martha Cline and Leslie Schwartz from Harvest Kitchen to advise shoppers on the processes of pressure canning, test pressure gauges and offer information and other resources for food preservation. Many thanks to them both for coming to our market.
Only one person took advantage of the garage sale/market combination.
Thanks go out from the market managers to all our vendors for their support during this season, and to the shoppers who have come to the market regularly to make it a success. We hope you all stay safe and warm over the cold months to come.

Good news for out last market of the 2025 season. Cornell Cooperative Extension's Harvest Kitchen will be at the market this Saturday from 9:00 until noon to answer questions about food preservation, test pressure cooker gauges, and give information and suggestions about food canning. Free canning jars will be available to the first 10 people who stop by their demonstration in the gazebo at Chapman Park this Saturday. If you are planning on doing any canning or pressure cooking this fall, then bring your cooker along and have it checked out.
Remember this weekend is also a garage sale/market combination. Any members of the public wishing to sell some of those extra items from around the house are welcome. Come set up a booth, or just sell from the trunk of your vehicle. All we ask is a $5 donation to Morristown Promotions.
See you at the market!

Yesterday was the second to last Morristown Market for the 2025 season and had a good turn out of vendors and shoppers. Thanks again to all for your support and participation again this year.
Next weekend, September 6th, will be our last market for the season and will take the form of a combination garage sale and market. Our regular vendors and members of the public are welcome to set up a stall , or just sell garage sale items from the trunk of their vehicle. No application is necessary though we ask for a $5 donation to Morristown Promotions council.
This last market of the season will be at Chapman Park, as usual, and will run from 9:00 until noon. Set up time begins at 8:00 AM and sales for this weekend may begin at that time.

What happened to our hot sunny summer days? We seem to have dropped right into Fall weather. This has been a very odd year for weather.
We have just two markets left in our 2025 season. This week will be a regular market, no special events planned, just a good place to see friends and neighbors, pick up some nice fresh corn, baked goods and veges.
September 6th will be our last market for the year and will be another garage sale/market combination, as was our opening market for this year. We will be at Chapman Park under the windmill, rain or shine, from 9:00 until noon. We just hope for one more nice sunny day to end the season.
For the September 6th combination market and garage sale, members of the public are invited to come along and, for a $5 donation, sell those extra items from around home. You can put up an awning, or just sell some things from the trunk of your vehicle. Set up time starts at 8:00 AM.
Stop by and see what “treasures” are offered and pick up some goodies from our regular vendors.

Good news for the market tomorrow; there will be corn! We have had just enough rain now to fill out the Lowery corn to its usual plump juicy size so we will all have a nice treat for dinner tomorrow.

What a wonderful day for the children at Morristown Market today. The teddy bears' picnic was a huge success. Many thanks to Lauren Gilmour and Chrissy Mallette for putting on such a super event, and to Wayne Latham for transport.
The teddy bears all seemed to have great fun on the rides, and only sustained a few injuries. Injured bears were quickly and skillfully treated at the bear first aid station and then released to the care of their children. Several homeless bears at the Adopt A Bear station found new humans to love them and departed happily to their new homes. After rides, games, and chasing bubbles, bears and humans snacked on, yes, you guessed it, animal crackers and juice!
Thanks to all who worked to put this even together, to our vendors for their support, and to the parents and children who brought their bears along to make this day a success.

If you go down to the market this week you're in for a big surprise
If you go down to the market this week you'd better go in disguise
For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain because
Saturday's the day of the teddy bears' picnic

Yes, the market is on as usual, but this time will have a teddy bears' picnic event for the children and yes, for those of us who still have a soft spot for teddy bears and other stuffed friends.
There will be a picnic for hungry and thirsty bears, various stuffed animal and bear related events, and even a first aid post for wounded or injured bears and stuffies.
Bring your children and their stuffed friends but please remain at the market with them.
Hours will be our usual 9:00 until noon at Chapman Park, by the Windmill.

It was another fine sunny day at Morristown Market this morning, mercifully not as hot as last week. The lawn is certainly feeling the scorch though. The lavender is in full bloom at High Street honey, so was the honey! The craftily crocheted critters of Erin Begel were watching hydrangeas and hibiscus sell out from Terry Family Greenhouse while the scent of fine soaps from River house Soaps wafted across the market. Our Amish vendors added ffresh veges and baked goods, and North Bakery/ Septivium Coffee had tasty treats, bread, and freshly ground, locally roasted coffee. Corn is just starting, but by next week we should have plenty to offer. Stop by and shop at Chapman Park, Saturday 9:00 until noon.

What a great day at the market today! It was hot and sunny but with ten vendors present there was plenty of interesting shopping. A steady flow of shoppers made for a successful day all round.
Bridget Gordinier and Lauren Gilmour gave yoga and pottery demonstrations and instruction, and were glad of the shade provided by the gazebo. We will plan another pottery and yoga day for later in the summer for those who missed out today, and for revisits.
Our regular market returns next Saturday, 9:00 AM until noon, but watch three weeks from now for our next scheduled event. Pause for effect …..... The Teddy Bears' Picnic! More details on this will follow in the next two weeks.
