Vandal Brand Meats We offer a wide variety of high-quality meat products produced by our students, faculty and staff.

The purpose of the University of Idaho Meat Science Laboratory is to provide a facility to conduct teaching, research and public service activities for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Department of Animal, Veterinary and Food Sciences. It is devoted to the development of science, the application of that science and to the solution of the problems in animal and meat science. Vandal Br

and Meats was opened to provide a sales outlet to sell the meat products generated by these activities. These sales help compensate for the cost of the livestock, supplies, student labor and maintenance of the facilities. Although the Vandal Brand Meats name has been in use since 1988, the facility has been on campus for more than 40 years.

Congratulations Tanner Longmire, one of our student employees, on graduating this past weekend! 🎉 Tanner graduated with a bachelors in agricultural economics with an emphasis in agribusiness. He also earned a minor in animal science. Tanner looks forward to a career in agricultural sales.

Vandal Brand Meats recently traveled to the 2026 Montana Meat Processors Association Convention. 🥩

While there, employees judged products in the cured meat competition and attended the convention banquet. During the banquet, our student employees were able to assist with the live auction.

Student employees in attendance include Karly Krasselt, Catie McCarthy, Natalie Kornbau, Eli Cureton and Harrison Boedeker.
