Now’s your chance to grow the Monocacy hop—a genetically unique variety discovered on a historic Frederick County farm once part of Carrollton Manor, home to Declaration signer Charles Carroll. 🇺🇸

First spotted in the late '60s by Dr. Ray Ediger, this hardy hop has thrived for decades with little care, showing resistance to pests and disease while producing beautiful cones each year.

In 2022, researchers compared this hop to over 600 varieties from the USDA’s national hop collection—and found it was genetically unique and most similar to wild American hops. This discovery confirmed what Maryland growers had long suspected: the Monocacy hop is one-of-a-kind. Named for the Monocacy River watershed, it’s a true local treasure.

Lamb and beef sale continues at Stillpoint Farm Mercantile this weekend! We have b***d and rolled lamb shoulder roasts, rib chops, loin chops, shanks, sausage and more. There is plenty of beef chuck steaks, shoulder steaks, sirloin steaks, burger, and more! All lamb and beef on sale for $5 per pound. Plus get your fresh Stillpoint Farm maple syrup, as well as local cheese, pork, candies, and much much more!
