Previously located in western Dane County, offering fresh, local, sustainably-grown produce, meats, dairy, bodycare products and much more. Depending on the season, much of the co-op's produce had traveled an average of only 11.5 miles. Those with special dietary needs will find many gluten-free and dairy-free alternatives, from pastas, breads, crackers and cookies to cheeses and soymilks. Herbs a
nd spices are sold in bulk, as are grains and flours, nuts and seeds, teas and coffees, granola, etc. It's easy to purchase just the amount you need, whether you're buying basics for your pantry or "road food" for a trip. Focusing on our owner's and other customer preferences, non-toxic personal care items, pet food, and environmentally responsible cleaning products as well as solid selection of nutritional supplements, including children's vitamins and homeopathic remedies are regularly stocked, but can also be special-ordered. Hungry shoppers can find a tasty array of fresh-made sandwiches, soups, salads and raw food delights. More choices include frozen treats (fruit, ice cream, and non-dairy), cold organic sodas and juices, and delicious & healthful snack mixes. Trillium Co-op's dairy shelves feature a large variety of organic and Wisconsin cheeses and in our freezers, we feature locally grown and organic meats, pesto and pastas. Fresh bread, cookies and crackers from four area bakeries are delivered throughout the week. A popular favorite from Cross Plains, Cress Spring Sourdough Bakery delivers freshly baked loaves on Friday, late afternoons. Nature's Bakery and Potter's Crackers are delivered on Tuesday (mid-day); and Mt. Horeb's Schubert's Bakery delivers an array of fresh breads on Tuesdays, including fresh-baked loaves of bread made without gluten.
