Happy Saturday, y’all! It is May 23rd, and we are already rolling into Sweetgrass Mercantile with our first major drop of the day. We are working hard to make your Memorial Day weekend easier, more delicious, and full of all the things we love to see at a good Southern barbecue.

We are whipping up tons of key lime pies and huge batches of homemade banana pudding layered with homemade whipped cream and Nilla wafers. We’ve got beautiful trays of baked macaroni and cheese ready for your oven — layered with hand-grated cheese, heavy cream, and grass-fed butter. Comfort food at its finest.

Today we are stocked with:

Homemade potato salad

Macaroni salad

Chicken salad

Tuna salad

Cucumber & onion salad

Mediterranean pasta salad

We’re also making local chemical-free shrimp quiche with smoked andouille sausage, plus our crab quiche favorites. We’ve got homemade chicken pot pies, hand-sliced tomato pies topped with hand-grated cheese, and homemade salad dressings ready for your holiday table.

The farm pantry is packed full today with farm eggs, pasture-raised chicken, and our new selection of Duroc heritage pork including pork chops, pork ribs, and pork roasts. The freezer is absolutely loaded down with peeled and deveined local chemical-free shrimp ready to throw straight on the grill this weekend.

Hannah is pulling fresh sourdough from the oven as we speak and will be delivering all of your favorites this morning — plain loaves, cheesy loaves, focaccia, and of course those famous sourdough chocolate chip cookies sprinkled with sea salt.

We’ve also got fresh hummingbird cakes in the market today along with gumbo, vegetable minestrone, and creamy tomato basil soup.

It’s May 22nd and we are already hard at it over at Salt Marsh Farm Kitchen. The first drop has already hit the market and we are STOCKING for Memorial Day weekend!

Jay has already delivered today’s farm eggs and is processing our fresh produce delivery now. Featured today are gorgeous blackberries from Andrews Acres, and we’re turning them into a red, white & blue-style blackberry bread pudding ready for your Memorial Day table.

Thursday Farm Pantry Drop

Hey y’all, good morning! It is Thursday, May 21st, and we are slicing, stocking, simmering, and baking sourdough all day long at Salt Marsh Farm Kitchen. We’ll be making several deliveries to Sweetgrass Mercantile today, byt we are FULLY STOCKED EARLY

✨ First sourdough drop hits at 9:30 AM — fresh loaves straight from the oven. Little pillows of sourdough yumminess.
Our loaves are cold-proofed for 24–48 hours to help break down more gluten and support better digestion. Made with only three simple ingredients: filtered water, organic non-bleached flour, and starter.
🍪 Hannah baked another batch of her famous “Best in Charleston” sourdough chocolate chip cookies sprinkled with sea salt.

🥧 Memorial Day weekend prep is officially underway!
We’re bringing about 20 more fresh key lime pies to the market this morning.
Today’s fresh restocks include:
*Fresh hand-grated pimento cheese
*Homemade buttermilk ranch
*Stone-ground grits simmering on the stove

Hi! Hannah here, the sourdough baker 👋🏼
I’ve been so blown away at everyone’s feedback on our sourdough so I decided I wanted to tell you just why it’s so special ✨

{ingredients} Water, good quality organic non-bleached flour, sea salt. That’s it. Three ingredient sourdough. We believe labels should be easily understood and SHORT.

{process} Our sourdough is thoughtfully made in small batches and handled with care to ensure it retains all nutrients before it gets baked. We do a long cold proof on our dough. What does that mean? Once our dough is ready and shaped we put in our fridges for 24-48 hours at minimum so that fermentation can help break down the gluten and make it much easier to digest. That’s when the magic happens. Better flavor development and easier digestion makes for the most perfect sourdough loaf. Lastly, we bake each loaf to perfection with a beautifully blistered outside and soft inside and complex flavor that compliments any meal.

{mission} As a baker, I am passionate about making excellent quality products that you can use as a swap from grocery store staples. I try and come up with recipes that are family friendly as well as gut healthy. I use good quality butter, organic non refined sugar, local honey, organic pure maple syrup as well as coconut sugar to sweeten with. One thing I’ve been working on is finding better chocolate chips, better quality than “grocery store chips”. Standby on that!

If you’ve made it this far, I just wanted to say thank you! Each purchase made makes it possible for us to be able to do this everyday and be able to provide you with excellent local goods ✌🏼
