🍎 IT’S ALMOST APPLE TIME! 🍎
We’ve had A LOT of folks asking, and we’re finally ready to share the news! It’s been one. crazy. year! Thanks to that late spring frost/freeze, we’re sitting at about 25% of a normal crop this year. It may be slowing a few things down, but it is not stopping us! 😉
We’ll be opening Tuesday after the fair and we have some VERY exciting things happening this year!

🎡 SEPTEMBER 8–13 — HARDIN COUNTY FAIR
Come see us in our usual spot between the grandstands and the Hardin County Cattle Producers Steak Building. We’ll have cider for everyone — hot spiced, cold, and ice-cold slushies!

🏡 SEPTEMBER 15 — NEW LOCATION OPENING!
We’ll open our doors at 10:00 AM, with a Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting at 1:00 PM with the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance Come celebrate our new home and all the hard work that went into making it happen! ❤️

🍂 OCTOBER 3 — HARVEST ON THE KNOLL 🍂
We’re thrilled to announce a brand-new event with the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance, Harvest on the Knoll at Black’s Shady Knoll Orchard! We hope this becomes an annual tradition that grows every year. More details coming soon!

🎃 And YES… THE U-PICK PUMPKIN PATCH IS HAPPENING! 🎃
We’ll announce the opening date soon, but it will definitely be open for Harvest on the Knoll!

We are SO relieved, excited, and grateful to finally be moving into our new space. The support, excitement and patience you’ve shown us through this crazy adventure has been overwhelming in the very best way. ❤️

✨ THANK YOU, EVERYONE! ✨
We are still floating from all the warmth and energy at yesterday’s Open House! Seeing so many of our neighbors, friends, and families came out on August 8th meant the absolute world to us. 🍎❤️
The overwhelming community support and excitement for our new orchard facility is beyond anything we could have hoped for. Every conversation, kind word, and shared moment reminded us why we love serving this amazing community.
We can’t wait to welcome you into the new space soon! Thank you for growing with us and for being the best part of Black Shady Orchard. 🌾✨

IT WAS MOVING DAY TODAY!!!! Well, at least for the heavy equipment anyway. We moved the apple washer, the rest of the cider press and the checkout counter. Almost got the office ceiling in and are ready to start working on apple shelving and the market. And popped in a window AC unit mostly to deal with humidity. We are getting so excited for you to see everything at Open House on August 8th!!

Some of you may have seen this young lady at the orchard last Fall. An update as we head into this season. She resides at Kati’s house. As the weather cooled down we got her tamed enough to bring home. She enjoys playing with her toys. Getting combed. Kati’s lap. Swatting at Kati for attention and most of all playing in water! The water fountain resides in the bath tub. She is truly enjoying life. She is very spoiled.

Decisions! Decisions! Working on the library shelves. I think we have them placed where we want them. Now to just make them a permanent fixture. Kati cleaned them, we both decided where we wanted them, and moved them with the help of Brian and Landon, now it’s the guys turn to figure out how to make a more permanent, and Karen took the picture. Teamwork makes the dream work!
