🏈 WHY? When the SF 49ers play Sunday home games, the Mountain View Farmers’ Market relocates in order to allow room for public parking in the Caltrain Lot.

🏎️We are getting ready for the Zucchini Car races this Sunday! Here are some tips for building a car the day of the race! Make sure to arrive with plenty of time to create your race car. Race starts at 11am and all cars must be registered before the race begins.

Building a car at market:
1)🏁 Find a zucchini from a farm at market
2)🛞Head over to Wheels & Axels. Here our race team will assist with the installation
3)🎨 Decorate & Customize the car with materials provided at the Pit Stop
4)📣Register & Name your race car by 10:45am
or
Building a car at home:
1) Make sure your car is built according to the rules. We will have wheels and axels available if needed the morning of the race
2)Register car by 10:45am

Looking for ways to preserve the summer harvest? Try quick pickling your veggies! No canning supplies necessary, just heat safe jars. Make a brine with vinegar, salt, sugar, and herbs. Pour over veggies in individual heat safe jars and let cool before storing in the refrigerator. With this method you can preserve veggies with minimal effort! Quick pickles can last up to a month in the fridge!

Enjoy the farmers' market every Sunday from 9am-1pm.

🍇Farm Spotlight:
Justino and Kathy Topete developed their grape vineyard from scratch over 50 years ago. They made every cutting, planted every vine, and trained the vines themselves. They started out with Ruby Seedless grapes, and over the years they gradually mixed in a few other varieties. These were the first purple seedless grapes developed and the Topete Family were among the first Ruby growers. (Ruby Seedless grapes are just coming into season)

🍇After years of selling their grapes commercially, they decided to sell grapes at Farmers' Markets in 2002. They love being able to sell directly to customers who enjoy their unique varieties and appreciate the work that goes into farming. To this day, Justino is out in the field almost every day and knows every vine in the field.

🍇During market season, their whole extended family pitches in to help harvest and bring only the best grapes to market. Chances are you will meet a Topete family member when you go to their stand. Stop by and say hi on your trip to the

🏁The Zucchini Car Races return Sunday, August 30th to the Mountain View Farmers' Market.

Buy a zucchini at market and then build your very own zucchini race car. You can build it at home or the day of the race at our Pit Stop! We will provide decorating materials and wheels for anyone who would like to build their car at market the day of the race!

🏆Check in at the RACE TRACK by 10:45am to register your car. All participants must be registered.
🏎️ Race starts at 11am!
🏁 Cars can be made at home in advance or during market with the supplies provided.

📜 Just make sure to read the rules below!👇
🏎️ The zucchini car must not be wider than 6.5 inches with wheels & no longer than 16 inches
🏎️ No weights or motorized devices
🏎️ Zucchini must be farm fresh (from farmers’ market or locally grown)
🏎️ The axle of the car must go through the zucchini

🏁 The Zucchini Car Races are returning to the Mountain View Farmers' Market Sunday, August 30th! Races start at 11am.

🛞Build a zucchini car at market the day of the race or build it at home. We will provide decorating materials and wheels for anyone who would like to build their car at market the day of the race! Let your creativity and engineering skills flow and build an epic zucchini race car!
