Soil testing. I highly recommend it. Mine was tested last year for the first time. After the recommended amendments, my garden produced better than it had in years. The soil test for this year has more recommendations for amendments and they will be applied soon. In the photo is the company I used and the results were emailed back to me on about four days! Get your soil tested, it's easy.

Here are my quality control taste testers hard at work. I can assure you they are tomato connoisseurs and have many combined years of experience between them.Their job is to try each variety of cherry tomato that were sold at the stand this spring and determine which are the sweetest, most tomatoey, and prettiest. Plan to stop by the stand in the 2026 spring to view their results!

We have a small farm in the Cascades foothills. We grow our own fruit and vegetables, and we also raise animals: chickens and ducks for eggs, and cows and pigs for meat. We keep goats on our property for pasture control —and for entertainment.
