The Koop 🌱🐓🌽🐮🚜👩🏽‍🌾

What is the meaning of “The Koop?” Well, my dream has always been connecting consumers with the farm. To help people understand where their food comes from & all the work that goes into it. I developed a love for agriculture at a young age and was typically with my dad whenever I could be. I still help my dad on the farm, but like I said it’s always been a dream of mine to connect more people to agriculture. It’s my hope with my new endeavors I can connect more with the consumers and provide nutritious, yummy food for my customers! I’ve been selling eggs for probably 10 years (shout out to all my loyal customers 🩵) It all started with the chickens 🐓. So, The Koop comes from where it all started…the chicken coop! Just had to switch the C for a K for Kelly 😉

The planter is in action!! First sweet corn is in the ground!

From a lush, green cover crop to a beautiful seed bed. My first sweet corn seeds were put in the ground today. In between these photos, lots of work was done to the planter to hopefully ensure even seed depth, spacing, and overall performance of the planter. (Planter is 50+ years old!!) It’s been quite the learning experience already, but it’s been a whole lot of fun. Stay tuned for progress pictures because there will be LOTS! 🤪 and I hope you all will be excited for farm fresh sweet corn grown by your local farmer! 🌽💚

One out of every three bites of food we eat relies on pollination, including essential sources of vitamins and nutrients like fruits, nuts, and vegetables. Make sure we protect the little bees! 🐝
