🌾 Our Story – Melton Farms
We’ve realized that some may not be familiar with our farm or know who we are and where we come from, so we wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves and share the heart and history behind Melton Farms.
My name is Tracy. I’m originally from McComb, Mississippi — but Natchez has long been home.
Years ago, my life changed forever when my first husband, Karl Kleppinger, Jr., was one of the eleven heroes who lost their lives in the Deepwater Horizon explosion.
During that season of loss, my faith, my family, and this community carried us through in ways we will never forget.
Wanting a peaceful place to heal, my family — my son, my parents, and my two sisters’ families — settled into a quiet life on the land that would later become Melton Farms.
For two years, we focused on faith, family, and rebuilding.
Then the Lord brought Ethan Melton into my life.
Ethan is a true Miss-Lou native — born in Natchez and raised in Natchez and Vidalia. This community is part of who he is.
We fell in love.
We got married.
And together, we built Melton Farms.
Today, Melton Farms is proudly rooted right here in Natchez. We are your neighbors.
We are committed to:
• Responsible farming
• Humane animal care
• Faithful stewardship of our land
• Using solar power where possible
• Conservation practices that protect our soil
Our corn is raised and milled by us into our own cornmeal.
Our USDA pork is raised by us, cared for daily, and respected — so that in their life, they only have one bad day.
We grow a variety of fresh herbs and vegetables, and we proudly offer what many call the best tasting boiled peanuts around.
We also offer an all-natural herbal and holistic line of products including teas, tinctures, creams, and bath and beauty items — carefully crafted with the same care and intention we put into our farming.
Alongside our farm goods, we carry beautiful beaded and bougie gifts and gift certificates — perfect for the person you’re just not quite sure what to get.
We believe you deserve to know where your food and products come from.
We believe in integrity.
We believe in serving our community well.
You can find our products locally at Bless This Mess in Vidalia, and we are also at the Natchez Downtown Market every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Natchez isn’t just where we farm — it’s where we belong.
And as a small thank you to the community that has given us so much, we are proud to offer free local delivery — from our land straight to your table.
