Our front window got a little refresh just in time for an especially festive weekend coming up 🌸🌈 We’ve stocked it with some of our favorite drinks and snacks, and a few colorful touches for Pride Month.

Join us this Friday, June 5 from 6-9p for our First Friday Art Walk reception featuring local artist

Then come back the next night for Nevada City’s annual Pride Parade down Broad St. on Saturday, June 6 at 6p 🦄

“The Groovy Gourd Gang is a dedication to female individuality and expression, depicted through vibrant colors, psychedelic patterns, and expressions that range from bored to pure annoyance.

I think, especially as an artist, it can be real easy to find yourself in the pitfalls of depicting women as only smiling and content towards the viewer. It’s important to me that these women are not expressing that at all, suggesting to the viewer that what they are doing and wearing is for themselves alone.

My biggest desire is for the viewer to look at each and every one of the members of this crew and see either themselves or a loved one. I believe that art is best when all are included!”
