“The Groovy Gourd Gang is a dedication to female individuality and expression, depicted through vibrant colors, psychedelic patterns, and expressions that range from bored to pure annoyance.

I think, especially as an artist, it can be real easy to find yourself in the pitfalls of depicting women as only smiling and content towards the viewer. It’s important to me that these women are not expressing that at all, suggesting to the viewer that what they are doing and wearing is for themselves alone.

My biggest desire is for the viewer to look at each and every one of the members of this crew and see either themselves or a loved one. I believe that art is best when all are included!”

Our next Community Lunch is coming up this Sunday, May 10, on Mother’s Day! 💐

We’re beyond happy to welcome back for her third Community Lunch 🫶🏼 She’s bringing back her delicious Ricey Vietnamese Meatball Soup after it was such a hit last time 😋

Our Community Lunches are always free - an offering from our regulars, sharing dishes that mean something to them: a nostalgic family recipe or simply a meal they love making.

Mother’s Day can look different for everyone, but we hope this is a cozy reason to gather. Bring your mom, your chosen family, a friend (or just yourself!) and slurp some soup with us 💜
