The Thrifty Paw

My name is Tara Witty-Nelson. My husband and I live just south of Ames and have 5 kids, 5 chickens, 2 cats and 1 little monster dog.

I am the happy owner of The Thrifty Paw, which I started just this year, sewing and hand knitting dog beds, cat caves and other unique pet beds along with fun snuffle toys for your furry friends that any budget can afford! Special orders are very welcome at no extra cost.

The Thrifty Paw has a permanent home at the inside Farmers Market at North Grand Mall, which is open every Friday thru Sunday all year round and I am excited to participate in the Nevada Market! Come check us out and spoil your fur babies with a new bed or a new snuffle toy!

If you stopped in for our first “Ugh, Mondays” Coffee Club, thank you so much! ☕️ We’re excited to bring this little tradition to the summer and are hopeful we can add Tuesday mornings back this fall.

Letter Eats By B
What originally started as a side hobby 4 years ago has grown into a passionate full-time business. I’m the owner of Letter Eats by B, a unique charcuterie service based in Boone. I’m most known for my one-of-a-kind 3D charcuterie-filled letters and numbers, but over the years my business has expanded to offer boxes, trays, snack cups, grazing tables, workshops, charcuterie bouquets, candy cones, and more. I also wholesale select items to local businesses and love finding new ways to collaborate within the community.

One thing I especially enjoy is adding personalized touches to each order, including custom cheese cutouts that make every board feel extra special.

Whether you’re looking for curated snacks for an individual, a large group, a holiday gathering, wedding, party, or special event, I love creating aesthetically pleasing and delicious options for every occasion. As my business has grown, so has my passion for community involvement, workshops, events, and supporting other small businesses — which has become one of my favorite parts of this journey.

At the market, I offer individual graze boxes filled with a variety of meats, cheeses, fruit, veggies, crackers, and house-made dip, along with shareable options too! I also offer protein charcuterie pasta salad, cheeseball spreads (perfect with crackers, veggies, or sourdough), and fruit parfaits. Everything is pre-packaged for convenience, making it easy to enjoy while walking the market or to take home for later. They’re refreshing, lighter snack options that are especially perfect for hot summer days!

I’m so excited to attend Nevada’s market and share everything Letter Eats by B has to offer! Look for my cute yellow VW bus with the pink umbrella — you can’t miss it!
