Farm update... The corn is coming! The corn is coming! If I was any good at graphic design, I'd have Paul Revere riding through a corn field holding corn, but I'm not. So here we are. Additionally, all of the hens have been evicted off their eggs. The total chick count for 2026 is 10 and that's plenty. So very soon we will have eggs again if anyone is interested. The picture is the first planting of corn, that will be ready in roughly a week. There are five more plantings that are growing, plenty more corn will be available. I will say it would be nice if it would rain.
Presently we have pickles, cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash.

We have produce officially!! Zucchini, Summer squash, cucumbers/pickles, and snap peas. Message me if you would be interested. As a reminder, we do not use anything on our vegetables. They grow as God intended!

Meet Betty. Betty's babies were born yesterday. First chicks of the year! Present chick count: 2
It will be interesting to see how many more chicks we get this year.

Another swarm was caught in a swarm trap. Very cool stuff.
I was far away while videoing as the bees were not happy, But it's the best thing for them. I would like to mention that both swarms that have been caught were wild bees, not our bees abandoning their hive, which makes it so much cooler!

Happy Spring Everyone!! The fields have been flipped and it's almost time to get back at it. We have made the decision this year not to participate in a Hometown Farmers Market New Boston. It's a great market. Please go check it out!
We will however be posting when we have vegetables, eggs, and honey for pick up at our farm. We are presently taking orders for sweet corn and any other vegetables anyone may need.
We are conducting an experiment this year with wheat. Is a specific wheat strain called Emmer.

Emmer is a hybrid species of wheat. Along with einkorn, it was one of the first crops domesticated in the Near East. It was widely cultivated in the ancient world, but is now a relict crop in mountainous regions of Europe and Asia. Emmer is one of the three grains called farro in Italy.[3]
