Geez, this June Heat today is something hot! Finally finished with picking, washing, sorting and packing for the Rivermarket tomorrow. Below is what I’ll have;

Okra
Green Beans
Squash
New Potatoes
Collards
Boiled Peanuts
Pork Skins

The Rivermarket is open 7am to noon. Come see me for true local, true homegrown.

I never had a chance to do a live video today. You all had me hustling from 6:30 am to noon. Thank you all for whats probably going to be the best market day I’ve ever had at the Rivermarket. My truck (full size Chevy with a 12’ flatbed) was loaded to the max this morning. I’m coming home with only four pounds of potatoes and one bag of shrimp! Thank you all.

Swordfish Fillets
Yellow Tail Grouper Filets

Whole Red Fish
Jumbo White Shrimp

Frozen;
Royal Red Shrimp
White Shrimp
Brown/Hopper Shrimp

I’ll also have my true homegrown produce;

Our tomatoes are turning red. It won’t be long and we will have our true homegrown, vine ripened available at a fair price that isn’t inflated.

Speaking my mind, I can’t understand why tomato prices are up. My seed cost, fertilizer cost, diesel fuel cost, and all supplies cost were the same this year as they were last year. I had zero inflation, therefor I will not be going up in prices. The price increase must be for shipping terminal tomatoes that came from who knows where.

I didn’t take a picture of them but our Okra is loading up tremendously. If the rain will stop and we get some sunshine, it’s very possible we will have okra available this weekend.

This past Friday, on pick day a very old side by side bit the dust. This caused pick day to be a lot harder than it should have been (my legs are still sore from it). So today I splurged and bought this new UTV. It’s a six seater, so I have room for five volunteers to help pick on Friday…..

I’m seeing news articles regarding Tomato prices going up a significant amount. When my tomatoes are ready in two to three weeks, my price at the farmers market will be the same it has been for the past three years. Y’all come see me at the Tuscaloosa Rivermarket and/or my father at the Northport Farmers Market for a great homegrown product at a fair price.
