Perelandra supports the Black Lives Matter movement, and we stand against police brutality, racism, and oppression. We share in the grief and rage over the horrific killings of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and countless others. We deeply support the dismantling of the racist structures, policies, and institutions that have existed in this country since its inception. We encourage the efforts of our fellow New Yorkers to call on our country and politicians to face and address the centuries of systemic racism that Black Americans and other people of color have been subjected to. Hello friends! Due to the NYC curfew, we will be closing at 7pm every night this week though Sunday, June 7th. As of Monday, June 8th, assuming the curfew has been lifted in the city, our hours will be returning to 8am-10pm daily. Please take care of yourselves and each other 💞

On April 17, 1976 Perelandra Natural Foods opened on the parlor floor of 154 Montague Street. No one could have imagined that 44 years later we’d be at the epicenter of a global public health crisis, navigating our way through never before seen challenges, stress, and sadness. C.S. Lewis wrote in our namesake book, Perelandra, “A man who has been in another world does not come back unchanged.” That’s what this feels like- another world from the one we knew a mere few months ago- and how will we be changed by it? Can we take this experience and translate it into a different way of being in the world? Will there be collective recognition of how our actions impact one another? That’s our hope as we enter our 44th year in business: that we’ll all come out of this full of compassion, and with a greater awareness of our connection to each other, and the planet.

Thank you so much for your support, and for all of your love, kindness and goodwill. We are so grateful for our wonderful community. Sending you all our love and our best wishes for good health.

Friends! We are temporarily closing our kitchen and beverage bar, effective today, to better serve you in the rest of our store. Perelandra will continue to be open 8am-8pm daily, and we are continuing to get grocery and produce deliveries 6 days per week to keep your kitchen stocked with fresh, healthy food. The kitchen and beverage bar will both re-open with their full menus as soon as the Coronavirus outbreak abates.

A reminder that you can also shop Perelandra online! We'll do the shopping for you- with great care- and leave it outside your door. We offer no-contact home delivery 6 days a week to any address in Brooklyn, and also offer curbside pick-ups. Visit us at PerelandraNatural.com to place your online order.

Our kitchen is OPEN and operating with some restrictions:
✨our hot bar is closed for the time being, but we are packing individual meals and they are available in our grab & go case
✨Hot soups are available from 9 am - 7 pm (check our website for daily offerings)
✨Our full sandwich menu is available 8 am - 7 pm daily
✨Our beverage bar is fully open and operational for juices, smoothies, and coffee
✨Our staff is working hard to keep our case filled with all of your favorite salads, soups, dips, spreads, & desserts!
✨if ordering groceries online, you can add any kitchen items you’d like in the notes section

In order to limit contact, all self service has been suspended, our staff is happy to serve you 🙂

As of tomorrow we will begin letting people over the age of 65 and immunocompromised individuals do their shopping before we open to the public, between 7am and 8am. This will be by appointment so we can ensure a limited number of shoppers will be in the store during this time. Please call us at 718-855-6068 and ask for a manager to sign up for early morning shopping.

We truly appreciate all of the patience, kindness and support we've seen over the past few weeks. We are so grateful to be part of such a wonderful community of people. Please take good care of yourselves and one another.
