☕️ The Sicilian Sugar Test 🇮🇹

In Sicily, there’s an old-school way some people judge an espresso: sprinkle a little sugar on top and watch what happens.

If it sits on that beautiful crema for a moment before slowly sinking, some say you’ve got a proper cup of coffee. Others argue it means nothing about the quality of the espresso.

Me? I say the best test is simple: take a sip and see if it makes you close your eyes. 😂☕️

But I’m curious—what do you think? Is the sugar test a real sign of good coffee, or just a Sicilian coffee tradition we love to believe in?

A working vacation, but in a place like Capo Pescara, work feels a little different. 🌿💧

We’re here taking a step back, reconnecting with nature, and putting energy into a special project — while also giving ourselves the space to renew, recharge, and find fresh inspiration.

Sometimes the best ideas come when you change your surroundings, slow down, and let a beautiful place do its work.

Grateful to be here. 🤍

🇮🇹📚 A Little Research… A Lot of Inspiration

Taking a stroll through an Italian library today—but not just to admire the beautiful books. I’m here doing a little research for an exciting new project we’ve been working on. 👀✨

Surrounded by old stories, local history, and generations of Italian tradition, there couldn’t be a better place to find inspiration.

I can’t share too much just yet… but something special is coming. 🇮🇹❤️

Stay tuned… this story is just beginning.

🌵 A Little Taste of Sicily Is Coming… 🇮🇹✨

If you’ve been to Sicily, you’ve seen them everywhere—Fichi d’India, Sicily’s beautiful prickly pears, growing wild along roadsides, across the countryside, and under the Mediterranean sun. ☀️🌵

Colorful, sweet, and unmistakably Sicilian, they’re one of those little things that instantly make us think of home. ❤️

And this week… Fichi d’India are about to become part of the Turturici & Sons story in a very special way. 👀

We have a delicious surprise coming soon—and we can’t wait to share it with you!

🌵🇮🇹 Can you guess what it is?

A trip to the mercato is one of our favorite Sicilian traditions. It’s so much more than a place to shop—it’s where everyday life happens. You can find just about everything here, from fresh produce, cheeses, meats, and seafood to clothing, housewares, furniture, flowers, and handmade treasures.

And look what we found while browsing… olive oil from our very own Turturici family farm! 🇮🇹💚 Seeing our family’s olive oil on the shelves here in Sicily is always a special reminder that generations of hard work continue to bring the flavors of our homeland to tables near and far.

Where Faith, the Sea, and Olive Trees Tell the Story of Trabia 🇮🇹🫒

In Trabia, life has always been shaped by three gifts: faith, the sea, and the olive tree.

The little Chapel of St. Rosalia has watched over this coastal town for generations. Families have stopped here to pray for protection, to give thanks, and to ask for safe journeys before loved ones headed out onto the Mediterranean. Just a few steps away, the Pescatore (Fisherman) Statue honors the men whose strength, courage, and hard work helped build this community.

While fishermen brought in the day’s catch, the hills surrounding Trabia were filled with families tending ancient olive groves—harvesting olives by hand, caring for the land, and producing the extra virgin olive oil that has been at the heart of Sicilian tables for centuries.

These traditions weren’t just occupations—they were a way of life. They taught patience, resilience, gratitude, and the importance of family. Every time we return to Trabia, we’re reminded that our roots run deep, and that the same values that shaped this beautiful town continue to inspire our family and every bottle we produce today.

From the shores of Trabia to your table… it’s all part of our family’s story. ❤️🫒

Cannolo a Day… and I Have No Regrets 🇮🇹💚

At this point, I think it’s safe to say I have a cannolo obsession… because yes, I’ve been eating one every single day! 😄

When it’s filled with fresh, creamy ricotta and topped with crunchy Sicilian pistachios, how could I not? This isn’t just dessert—it’s a daily ritual. One bite of an authentic Sicilian cannolo, and you’ll understand why I keep coming back for another.

And yes… it’s cannolo when you’re talking about one. Cannoli is the plural. 😉
