This is the kind of cabin a man builds with one buddy and a .chainsaw.

2 x 40ft containers do the structural work. Heavy timber framing wraps the build and creates a wraparound covered porch. Dark vertical wood cladding hides every .wall of steel. Stone chimney already smoking. Fire pit already lit. Antlers already on the wall.
Nothing here is decoration. It's all working gear.

Containers: 2 x 40ft.

Est. livable space: ~640 sq ft + 400 sq ft porch.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS STILL AVAILABLE!!!!!

Dear, Fellow Natural Builders:)

Again, We are inviting for volunteers. to come and join us on our second consecutive season of creating our beautiful natural building .home at our eco-village in south central, Alaska.

No building experience is required. Only the desire to help and learn.
Here is a brief description of the volunteer positions and the living spaces .we are offering…

We have tent, tepee and yurt spaces.
we have a flexible building schedule. It’s typically 5-4 hours per day and up to. 5 days a week. There will be regular group trips into the local towns for shopping/sight-seeing as well as regular hiking adventures in the wild Alaskan nature.

we cook and enjoy mostly vegan/Macrobiotic meals (with the occasional wild caught salmon or other seafood)

Besides the project, we also have spaces for practicing yoga, walks to the nearby beach, forage wild foods, play sports, garden and occasionally have evening hangouts at the campfire or celebration parties.

As you can see our house is a double cat scale, two-story post and beam structure. We are using light straw clay for our wall systems as well as earth plasters and will be creating a rocket mass heater. It is our goal to be living in our dream home by the end of the season.
if you are a beginner you will or may learn basic wood shop skills, as well as masonry, clay plastering, electrical/plumbing and natural building 101 knowledge.
