Good crank?
OK, the backstory is the engine I had in my boat, the block cracked
I didn’t run it very long with water in the oil, but I bought a new engine from a feller that said it was not cracked in winterized
I opened it up and found that I think there’s a blown head gasket. I don’t think it’s a bad block
But the crankshaft that was in it had pit it from the rus-t, (not horribly) I probably could still run it, but I want the engine to last a little while
I plan to replace all the bearings. The crank has some scoring in my old block that I would like to use.
I know on one spot it barely catches my fingernail, but I feel like it would be OK to use, going to a machine shop would be as much as buying a new crank
I just want some more experienced opinions on the matter
Can I put new bearings in it?
Also, can I use my pistons out of my old engine I know that they wear to the pistons shape, but they’re in better shape than the new new ones
