The Produce Peddler

The Produce Peddler Farmer's market specializing in high-quality local goods. Fruits, vegetables, eggs, plants, more! We enjoy what we do and welcome you to join us.

The Kranz Hill Farm is a project of Omnia Humanitas (www.omniahumanitas.org), a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping people live integrated lives by working together to build communities, redefine education, and revitalize the land. The Kranz Hill Farm demonstrates sustainable farming practices and reintegrates farming into the everyday experience of people through its flock of chick

ens, burgeoning goat herd, education and arts programs, and its CSA. We welcome children, families, and other groups for tours and visits. Our thirteen acres are located on beautiful rolling hills just outside the city of Newark. We grow an assortment of heirloom and hybrid vegetables, herbs, and flowers for our CSA. UPDATE NOVEMBER 2022: The Kranz Hill Farm is no longer in operation. Produce sales continue under the name THE PRODUCE PEDDLER, with online store and home delivery.

Pick up some more garden plants this week. Home delivery. We also have pots and potting soil!

Spring plants are still looking good, but it's just become warm enough to replace with summer annuals. And if you have some places you save for summer plants -- you can get started now!

Some of these plants are wonderful for our area -- heat- and deer-resistant verbena and ageratum, which should flower all year long. Native coral bells, silverking, and Solomon's seal. And check out the gorgeous Senetti and nemesia!

[For every $100 you spend in our Garden Center before May 23rd, you'll receive a $25 credit to your account. It's our Big Garden Deal -- like getting 25% off EVERY purchase.]

An in-person market is SUCH a good thing. There will be neighbors there to talk to you -- people to see face-to-face.

If you have kids, bring them along to play at the playground.

If you play a musical instrument, we'd love for you to set up a stool and play. I may do that, too.

Maybe you can walk or bike to the market in the beautiful sunshine, and eat a crisp apple on your way home.

None of this is convenient.

We're not trying to "get things done." We're doing something that is worth the time.

WATER YOUR PANSIES!

We're entering a three-day heat wave. Pansies won't like the heat, and will suffer some real heat stress. You'll have a better chance of keeping them healthy and flowering into the cooler week following if they're well watered.

ALSO, if they're in pots like the ones pictured above, you might do well to move them to a cooler, more shaded location.
