Another day at the farm!
My nemesis showed up today. 😩
For those who followed our journey last year, you’ll remember our battle with those little copper colored eggs that attach themselves to the backside of squash leaves. But, I have hope this year, because we have help! 🙌 I’m believing in the power of our friends, the planted dill, nasturtium, and of course…duct tape!
Additionally, I spotted some mushrooms 🍄🟫 excelling in one of the beds today. Apparently the rain, wood, and soil created the perfect environment. I pulled them out, but have no idea if they are edible (but no mushrooms are edible in my world 🤣)!
I then strolled to the back of the property and spotted baby cosmos sprouting! Also spotted miniature zinnias, sunflowers, lemon basil, and maybe even some celosia trying to make its way through the soil. I cannot wait to see this section in bloom! Crossing my fingers we get to have cut flowers this year at the stand and for our students to learn about floral arranging!
It’s such a fun time of year watching everything grow. And tomorrow we begin our summer programming!! ❤️
I love The Broody Hen!
