Potential use of corn flour for heart health
Several clinical studies suggest that whole grain-derived products like corn flour may be beneficial to the heart. A study conducted in 2010 by Tighe et al. stated that consumption of corn flour may reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases by lowering blood pressure. Another study by Mellen et al. in 2008 suggested that dietary fibres present in corn flour may lower the risk of heart disease. However, you must consult your doctor if you have any symptoms of heart disease. Due to dietary fiber, corn flour may help reduce bad cholesterol (LDL- low density lipoproteins) levels. Holloender et al in 2015 conducted a study stating that corn flour might lower bad and total cholesterol levels.
