Columnar cherry plum "Blue" (summer variety, medium ripening) is a large-fruited representative of columnar trees, gaining increasing popularity among gardeners, thanks to its spectacular flowering and tasty fruits; columnar trees are ideal for small areas, because the planting scheme is 1x1 m. Fruits : very large, weighing up to 60 g, dark blue in color with a white waxy coating over the entire surface of the fruit. The pulp is yellow in color, dense, very juicy and aromatic, with a pleasant sweet and sour taste. The transportability and keeping quality of the fruits are high. Features of the variety: frost resistance of flower buds is very high; not damaged by diseases and pests; unpretentious to growing conditions. The variety is partially self-fertile; to obtain a high yield, it must be planted in pairs with cherry plums of the Mirabella variety or columnar plums. Recommendations for planting: prefers open sunny areas. The dimensions of the planting hole are 50:50 cm, it must first be fertilized (spring: nitrogen fertilizers; autumn: organic and phosphorus fertilizers), after planting the seedling must be well watered with rooting agents and mulched. When planting, it is important to ensure that the grafting site is 3-5 cm above ground level. For good formation of the root system and crown of the tree, the distance between plants must be 1 m.

Plum "Chachakskaya most" is a medium-sized or large fruit, 50-60g, ovoid or oval-ovoid in shape, very attractive. The skin is of medium thickness, dark blue in color, abundantly covered with a light blue coating. The pulp is greenish-yellow, very hard, quite juicy, aromatic, and of excellent taste. The stone is elongated and is easily separated from the pulp. The seam is clearly visible and divides the fruit into two equal parts. The fruits have good transportability and can also be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks without loss of presentation and taste. The fruits ripen 3-5 days earlier than the Stanley Plum (in the second and third ten days of August).

In Moscow, as a result of conducted phenological observations, BN Vorobyev established that Chinese plums and cherry plums begin vegetation and flowering earlier than domestic plums; plum genotypes are characterized by a wide reaction rate by the date of the start of vegetation; varieties of domestic plums ('Viktoria', 'Zyuzinskaya', 'Orlovskaya Rannyaya' and others), Chinese plums ('Krasny Shar', 'Skoroplodnaya', 'Yantarnye Sharyky') are characterized by a short vegetation period, while hybrid plums (Russian plums) are characterized by a long one.

The study of the degree of plum fruiting was carried out from 1999 to 2009. in the Leninsky District of the Moscow Region, at the laboratory site of the State University of Agricultural Sciences of the Rosselkhozakademii. 245 varieties and forms of the plum subfamily were evaluated, including 160 varieties and forms of domestic plums, 31 varieties of Chinese and Canadian plums, and 56 Russian plums (hybrid plums). Varieties with a regular, fairly high level of fruiting: plums 'Zanyatnaya', 'Sverhrannyaya', 'Tulskaya Ch'ornaya', 'Yakhontovaya'; plum 'Kubanskaya Comet'

According to modern concepts, the genus belongs to the subfamily Amygdaloideae - Almond (syn. Prunoideae - Plum).

According to the Germplasm Resources Information Network, the genus Prunus includes four subgenera (previously they were often separated into independent genera):

Almond (Prunus subgen. Amygdalus). Axillary buds in triplets. Flowers appear on bare branches in early spring. Representatives: common almond (Prunus dulcis), common peach (Prunus persica).
Cherry (Prunus subgen. Cerasus). There is one axillary bud. There are two sections:
Prunus subg. Cerasus sect. Cerasus. Representatives are common cherry (Prunus cerasus), Pennsylvania bird cherry (Prunus pensylvanica).
Prunus subg. Cerasus sect. Laurocerasus. Representatives: cherry laurel (Prunus laurocerasus), bird cherry (Prunus padus).
Prunus subg. Emplectocladus. The only representative of the subgenus is the North American species Prunus fasciculata.
Plum (Prunus subgen. Prunus). There is one axillary bud. Flowers appear on non-leafy branches in early spring. There are five sections:
Prunus subg. Prunus sect. Armeniaca. The representative is the common apricot (Prunus armeniaca).
Prunus subg. Prunus sect. Microcerasus. Representative - felt cherry (Prunus tomentosa).
Prunus subg. Prunus sect. Penarmeniaca. The representative is the dwarf plum (Prunus pumila).
Prunus subg. Prunus sect. Prunocerasus. Representatives: Prunus americana, Prunus nigra.
Prunus subg. Prunus sect. Prunus. Representatives: plum (Prunus domestica), cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera).

Many species now included in the genus Prunus were previously classified into independent genera. They have separate names in Russian that are not related to the Russian name of the genus: cherry, peach, apricot, almond, sweet cherry, bird cherry and others.
The leaves are simple, lanceolate, serrated along the edges.

The flowers are usually white or pink, with five petals and five sepals, solitary or in umbels of two to six inflorescences, or up to 20 or more in racemes in bird cherry trees.

The fruit is a drupe with a relatively large stone.
