Hi Everyone!
John and I are writing you to let you know that we are going to be selling or closing our cheese spread company, Yes I Foods.
As you know, we officially launched a year ago after nearly two years of researching the industry, identifying suppliers, trying to find a co-packer to make our product, and finally purchasing the plant and equipment needed to set up a production line.
We knew from the beginning that we would have to significantly scale the company to make it profitable but we've a point where our own financial resources are tapped out. Continuing on would require one or both of the following.
* that we raise money to build out our own plant and fund our deficits until we scale. We don't see that as a realistic possibility because it means asking friends and family for money for a venture with uncertain risk.
* find a co-packer. Unfortunately, we discovered that most co-packers are unable to move our product through their machines because of its high viscosity and others are reluctant to allow fresh vegetables into their plants or want to modify our recipe with cream cheese, preservatives, emulsifiers, a host of additives and pre-grated cheese. Obviously this does not meet our model.
After a lot of thought and many tears we've decided that the financial realities of sustaining the company make it too difficult to continue. We are very proud of having produced a high - quality product that has earned the praise of our customers and fans.
I will continue to make it for my friends and family as I always have.
Thanks to all who supported us and encouraged us during this venture.
I want to thank John personally for investing his time and money in my dream. I'm a very fortunate woman to have such a great life and business partner.
So...Goodbye from Yes I Foods
