This weekend's freezing temperatures could be devastating for tropical fruit trees. It is unusual for Southwest Florida, especially given our location in zone 10a. We are implementing preventive measures and covering the trunk with foam to safeguard the tree.

To achieve successful pollination, multiple Mamey trees are necessary. Since our sole tree has not borne fruit in recent years, we have planted various Mamey tree varieties around it to promote growth and aid in the pollination of the larger tree. Once these trees reach maturity, we will transfer them together to a permanent location.

Mukesh Ambani’s 600-acre mango orchard in Jamnagar, known as Dhirubhai Ambani Lakhibag Amrayee, has grown into Asia’s largest mango estate with over 150,000 trees and 200+ varieties, producing nearly 600 tonnes of premium mangoes annually. These mangoes—ranging from Alphonso and Kesar to rare international breeds—are exported to the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S., generating an estimated ₹22–100 crore in yearly revenue. Beyond profits, the orchard reflects Ambani’s push for sustainability, with desalination plants, drip irrigation, and soil health monitoring ensuring long-term productivity, while also empowering local farmers through free sapling distribution and training.
