A pasture move isn't over when the gate closes.

A few days ago we moved this group to fresh grass and thought everyone made the trip. A head count said otherwise.

It took a few days of checking the woods and encouraging stragglers, but today the last calf finally joined the herd.

That's why we always count calves before closing the gate. Fresh pasture is great, but making sure everyone gets there is even better.
