Thankfully our monkeys haven’t left the orchard since one of our maintenance workers tried to give them away several years ago.

Non-infectious monkeys carrying hepatitis C, herpes and COVID-19 are on the loose after a truck overturned in Mississippi, 16 WAPT News, our Hearst Television sister station reports. It has come to our attention that the other night many apples were stolen from the orchard, we believe to be used as a bait pile for a local bear hunter. We have opened a tip line, which you can call 802-491-7775.

The Nor’easter we suffered over the past 24 hours destroyed a lot of our trees as it dumped 16” of heavy snow at the orchard. We had been utilizing Tom's: Weather Desk, formally known as Tom & Ben's: Weather Desk for our weather updates but they failed to predict this storm (as they’ve failed to predict most storms this winter). Effective immediately, we will no longer be relying on “Tom” for our weather updates and will be relying on the much more reliable Jim Cantore.

We hope this is only a minor setback to what we’re hoping is a great season at the orchard. See you all soon!

Our owner went out early today to investigate some unusual noises in the orchard and found several pie ball moose meandering through and eating the remnants of this fall's harvest.

Well folks Best Orchards has hosted their first successful guided hunt of a beautiful pie ball moose. The morning was a bit challenging as the valley was heavy laden with a thick blanket of fog. We had a brisk chill in the air as we faced into the slight north easterly breeze.

We were in our custom made tripod box blind well before day break. At first light the silence was broken by a few distant cow bellows and a significant flock of Canada Geese flying over. At approximately 8:30 this morning we heard the sound of a distant couple of shots from the other side of the valley. Shortly after this our guest James Daniel caught the movement of a bull moose just to his left.

This 5 1/2 year old mature moose named Slammerision has been living on the property of the orchard since being a calf. Slammerision crossed the babbling brook and meandered up a slight knoll as he walked in range of our guest. It was approximately 8:55 when we heard the shot ring out and shortly after we received our radio call. James Daniel made us aware had just stroked Slammerision.
