Our Story

Herbal Traditions llc was born over a cup of tea at Mary’s kitchen table. We are not herbalists, we’re former homeschooling moms who have both experienced improved health from adding herbs to our lifestyle. One day we were sitting at the table, sipping cups of tea and talking about how nice it would be if there was a local shop where we could go and buy a little bit of this and a little bit of that to try out, instead of having to buy large amounts, pay what can be crazy shipping charges, and then have to wait days for our order to arrive. So that was our vision - to be a local source of organic herbs and loose leaf organic herbal teas. A place where people could come to try out the wonderful herbs that God has given us in their quest for better health. We got out some paper, started jotting down ideas and names, did a whole lot of laughing, and it took off from there.

Of course, if you have herbal teas, you need other types of tea as well. We carry a large variety of loose leaf black, green and white tea, rooibos, yerba mate and guayusa. All told, we have about 100 kinds of tea, over 130 individual herbs and more than 50 spices in our shop.

For those who aren’t tea drinkers, we have 7 varieties of organic coffee, most of them available as both whole bean or ground.

As the years have gone by, we have added other items to our inventory, such as herbal tinctures, essential oils, books and tea accessories. We make our own line of body care products that includes luxurious body butters, lip balms, deodorant, salves and, our newest adventure, soaps. We get excited about making and using organic and natural products for our health, inside and out, and we hope you do, too!
