Christmas came early for Chubb E Acres Farm this year! I'm beyond excited about these next 2 breedings, esp. because I was able to be part of step 1 (Egg retrieval (LOPU) and step 3 (Embryo transfer day) of the making of these special pregnancy announcements....(Dr. Santiago completed step 2 (IVF/fertilization in his lab)

We transferred a total of 6 embryos into 3 recipients and I'm happy to announce that 2 of the 3 are confirmed pregnant.

Smooch Me & Sonny are both carrying very special cargo and I'm gonna be holding my breath now for another 4 months.

This beautiful trio makes me smile every time I see them. The next 2 confirmed pregnancies are repeat breedings because well....I love consistency and I love what I'm seeing in their progeny and on the milk stand. This dam line is one that matures like a fine wine and just gets better with age. Unfortunately, I was not great about getting photos of all of them this year but in my defense I was running the farm, 2 jobs & in the middle of building my dairy so....next year they're going on milk test and they'll get to show everyone that they're not just pretty to look at...they do a damn good job filling the milk bucket too!

This lady has been waiting for her time to shine - she was 1st in every show ring as a FF but she only raised a single this year and well....she never lost her baby weight : ) She is an easy keeper and likes snacks : ) She even got put in the fat pen this year (I say that with love) and she was not happy about it. She had a special spot on the milk stand because she would throw her food bin down in anger when she didn't get any grain refills and bite her neighbors ear to try to steal grain.

Chubb E Acres Stellar's Jay (aka Jay) was admiring himself while he was out strutting his stuff for the ladies. Lots of interest but surprisingly he's still not under deposit yet. As a breeder I would admit that he's by far my favorite buck in the barn as far as potential to make a huge impact on someone's herd (aside from his sire of course). Not to mention his dam's beautiful udder and respectable LA score (VEVE 88)

Don't miss out because if he doesn't sell this winter, he'll be staying on as a junior herd sire with his poppa GTB Farm WD I See U Drippin' (I kept 6 daughters from ICE this year (if that tell's you anything about his sire's side....so I couldn't really give Jay a job but he'll be used heavily next fall for sure)

Junior Herd Sires Looking For Girls...

I've had a hard time deciding which bucks I want to keep this year but with 2 senior herd sires and 5 junior herd sires...a few need to be put to good use on other farms. I'm happy to take videos for those interested but I don't feel photos really do them justice and like every responsible breeder I do everything I can to ensure that the bucks I sell have solid backgrounds, respectable pedigrees and at least 2 freshenings from their dams to prove their worthiness to keep their nuts...that said I've posted a few photos. This Group is to help educate others on the joys of living on the homestead..enjoying organic farm fresh foods and healthy non-toxic living.

Our small hobby farm is home to chickens, ducks, turkeys, Nigerian dwarf goats, barn cats, emus, 1 mini horse, 2 gaited horses, our trusty farm dogs, lots of tiny quail babies & too numerous to count honeybees.

On our days "off" you can find us working on the farm and photographing farm life. My dream is to retire tomorrow and work on the farm sharing yummy organic farm to table food with others.
