The Hillbilly Voodoo Dolls, whose name came about because of the band's penchant for Rockabilly and various Louisiana musical styles and foods, evolved from a series of jam sessions which included members of some of the Twin Cities' top acts. Playing an energetic blend of Rockabilly, Blues, R&B, Rock 'n' Roll and Zydeco, the band has been described as "Rockpile jamming with Ray Charles at an after

hours party in New Orleans." Paul Bergen (guitar and vocals) is a veteran of several area acts, including The Revelators, Molly and the Heymakers and Boogiemen. In 1998 Paul released a solo CD, Puddle Of Tears, which features his excellent song writing and rootsy approach to vocals and guitar. He produced two critically acclaimed CDs for the Blue Loon label and has provided his back-to-basics playing and singing while performing with Miss Lavelle White, Lazy Lester, and Teddy Morgan. Tim Belden (piano and vocals), is versatile in a variety of styles, but specializes in honky-tonk and barrelhouse piano. Tim always seems to light up the crowd when he pounds out a solo. Also an excellent vocalist, he's still a member of Twin Cities' semi-legendary group The Ranchtones. Tony Kamana (drums), the band's newest member, spent five years as hand percussionist with G.B. His knack of adding dashes of odd percussion sounds and his always upbeat attitude make him a welcome addition to the group. If you're a fan of raw, rockin', up-tempo grooves, pounding boogie piano, and twangin' guitar, The Hillbilly Voodoo Dolls will have you saying "Hubba, Hubba" (the name of there new CD) in no time!
