Power has been restored (thank you Eversource) and Reliable Market is open our regular business hours 8:30-6. Your continued patience is appreciated as we restock the refrigerated items. We took the necessary precautions to protect the perishable items. We couldn’t have done this without the help of Adam Bresnick and IFP who loaned us a refrigerated trailer. Another example of the island community helping each other.

UPDATE: Reliable Market remains without power. We know and appreciate the efforts of the hard working Eversouce crews. They are doing their best to restore power in a timely manner. At this point it is unlikey we will be able to reopen today. Sorry for any inconveniences. Again if you are in desperate need of emergency supplies call the store 508-693-1102 and we will do our best to assist you.

It takes a lot for Reliable to close. (We try to live up to our name.) However this storm is extra ordinary and maybe even historic. With that being said Reliable Market will be closed today 2/23 out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of our team members and customers. We urge everyone to stay home and stay safe.

Although Reliable Market has been a mainstay on Circuit Ave since 1947 its roots can be traced back many years before that. Our founder Irene Helen (Santos) Pacheco grew up in the grocery business. Her parents owned JP Santos Meats and Provisions located in Newport RI. Below is the current location of where that store once stood.
