Every week at our farmers markets, we see the impact of Market Match.

It helps families stretch their food budgets, supports local farmers, and keeps fresh food accessible in our communities.

But Market Match is at risk. As California’s June 15 budget deadline approaches, funding for the program has only been included in the Assembly’s proposal—not the Senate’s or Governor’s.

We’re asking our community to help protect this vital program by urging state leaders to include at least $20 million in CNIP funding in the 2026-27 budget.

Market Match is at risk of disappearing. 🚨 Last week, Governor Newsom released the revised 2026–27 California State Budget, which included no renewed funding for , the program that doubles CalFresh EBT benefits at farmers markets throughout California and helps make fresh, healthy food more affordable for families across the state.

Without renewed funding by June 15, the program will come to an end in March 2027 — cutting off critical food access for California families and impacting income for small family farms. At a time of rising food costs and reductions to SNAP benefits, Market Match is more important than ever for food security, health equity, and supporting local farm economies.
