Start Time – The market opens at 10:30 and everyone should be set up by then. Doors at Eastwood generally open around 9:30. Back entrance – The double side doors nearest the d
riveway is our Primary Customer Entrance. Please use the back door (once market opens) for market deliveries and removals. Parking – while you're bringing in your product, it's fine to park near the back entrance. But please do not use the parking space next to the building nearest the front – that slot is reserved for J&R Farms, for parking their cold-storage truck. Once you've unloaded, please move your vehicle to the very back of the lot to allow customers to use the closer spaces. Tables – Please bring your own table, if at all possible. Eastwood has a limited number of tables available free of charge, but they are only available to those vendors who have no table and only on a first-come, first-served basis. Chairs - Chairs are available free of charge, but you will need to set up and replace any you use. Positioning of vendor stands – Vendor spots are first come, first serve. If you were a vendor last year, please occupy the same space as you did before. If you're a new vendor, please ask one of our Market Organizers- Laura Paxton about the best place to set up. New vendors are encouraged to set up along the center aisle. If necessary, we can set-up vendors in the hallway or gymnasium. Musician space – Please leave a 10ft. x 10ft. space in the North West corner of the gym for a musician or musical group. Musician donations – Our Winter Market musicians are paid $10 for a 1.5 hour slot. We encourage vendors to offer donations of goods to our musicians and ask that you encourage your customers to make their own donations. Vendor Attendance Notification – You don't need you to tell us that you're coming – but if you can give us some advance notice we can help promote your product . If you're only going to be a periodic vendor, we'd like to know that, too. Please use the Oberlin Winter Market page as the primary way to contact us. If you're not a Facebook user, another way to connect is through email at [email protected]. Kids – If you're bringing children with you to the market as a vendor, they need to be attended at all times and prevented from running through the gym and hallways, to help avoid accidents. Pets – No pets are allowed indoors at the Oberlin Winter Market. However, registered companion animals are permitted. Vendor Donations – The Oberlin Winter Market asks our vendors to support the market through weekly donations. 50% of a vendors donations go directly to the public schools. The public schools support the market by allowing use of the building and providing a custodian to open, close and clean-up. 50% of a vendors donation goes to the market to allow us to pay for musicians. Any remaining funds after compensating musicians will go to support the growth of the market (signage, adverts, etc.). We will collect market data (vendor gross sales) and donations near the end of every market. Please consider a cash donation of 5-10% of gross sales every week. Vendor Demonstrations – As part of our mission and in cooperation with the Oberlin Schools, we encourage vendors to offer free demonstrations of product creation, recipes, or other services. Please check with market organizers in advance of any planned vendor demonstration, to be sure we have space and utilities necessary for your set-up. Clean-up and Break-down – We must be out of the Eastwood gym by 2 pm sharp - no exceptions. Please make sure you can break down your stand and clean up any debris in a timely fashion. Questions?
