I used to make my own laundry detergent when my kids were little not to be crunchy, but because I was poor. Then as I got older and had friends who were fighting chronic diseases, and grandchildren with allergies,I learned how important it was to get the toxins that you can, out of your life. This is a super simple recipe. Mix these three ingredients on the stove top with about 6 cups of water until they are totally dissolved. Once dissolved add mixture to your 5 gallon bucket and fill the rest of the way with water. If you like a good science experiment, you will appreciate this. It will make its own gel. If you don’t want to grate your own soap, you can buy liquid Castile. You can also find Castile soap in bar form at the dollar store. Superrr…affordable! If it works for farm clothes,it will work for you. I won’t lie, I still get nostalgic over the smell of Downey in the air, but I don’t use it anymore.
