🎬 Lights, camera… meet Evie!

Yi Wen—known around here as Evie—comes to us from Malaysia and attends TAR UMT, where she’s working toward her bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting. If she ever produces a show about life in a small-town supermarket, we’d like approval of the blooper reel first! 😉🛒

Off the clock, Evie enjoys traveling, watching movies, and getting creative with arts and crafts, with R&B and pop providing the soundtrack. 🎶🎨

Her review of Old Forge? A small-town, peaceful vibe surrounded by beautiful nature. No special effects needed for those Adirondack views! 🌲✨

Evie has made some wonderful memories in Old Forge, including bonfire nights with her friends and watching the fireworks by the lake during America's 250th anniversary celebration.🇺🇸

Evie's American adventure isn't over yet. She'll be visiting Universal Studios and Disney World before heading west to Las Vegas and some incredible National Parks. She's especially excited to see Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon and of course the Grand Canyon! Her journey will wrap up with visits to LA and San Francisco.

What an amazing journey she will have in the USA.🇺🇸✈

🌏 Have you met Mei Jin, otherwise known as MJ?

MJ comes to us from Malaysia and attends TAR UMT, where she’s working toward her bachelor’s degree in International Business. We like to think working at DiOrio’s counts as hands-on research… just with more sandwiches! 😉🥪

You may have also run into her at The Original Eagle Bay Donut Shop—between sandwiches and donuts, she’s got the important food groups covered! 🍩😂

When she isn’t working or studying, MJ enjoys listening to pop and R&B, watching movies, and making Perler bead art. Between business classes and placing all those tiny beads, we’re guessing she has patience AND attention to detail! 🎶🎨 She has made some wonderful new friends, enjoyed campfires, a night out at Tow Bar and even celebrated America's 250th anniversary during her time here🇺🇸

Her favorite things about Old Forge? The beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere, and being surrounded by nature. We can’t argue with that—our little corner of the world is pretty special! 🌲❤️

MJ will be here for just a few more weeks before beginning quite the american adventure. Her travel plans includes Disney World, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, LA and San Francisco. From the peaceful mountains to the theme parks, bright city lights, and the California coast--she's going to see it all!!

🏀Rap, subs, and roast beef...let's talk about Marvin!

Marvin comes to us from Taiwan, where he studies Enterprise Management. Here at DiOrio's, you'll find him in our deli department-and he's already done some important research: his favorite specialty sandwich is the Paul Bunyan, and a roast beef sub is always a winner!😀
Outside the deli, Marvin enjoys fitness, basketball and listening to rap. Since arriving in Old Forge, he's also been fishing and kayaking, making the most of the beautiful views and chill vibe.🎣🛶
His next stop? Las Vegas and San Francisco! Going from peaceful paddling to the lights of Vegas should be quite a change of pace-but we're curious whether either city can compete with his favorite sub😀✈
Stop by the deli and say hello before he heads out at the end of the month. Talk basketball , swap fish stories, or ask him for a sandwich recommendation.

🚗⚡ Have you met Filip?

You might remember Filip from last summer—and we’re excited to have him back! Filip comes to us from Macedonia and is studying to become an electrical engineer.

When he isn’t working or studying, Filip enjoys listening to folk, country and rock music. He also loves fixing and restoring old cars—so if it has an engine or some tricky wiring, Filip is probably ready to take a look! 🔧🎶

We asked Filip what he enjoys most about Old Forge. He said it’s how open and kind everyone is—and, of course, the beautiful scenery. 🏔️
