So - Summer is going to be hitting Old Lyme soon.
Sadly, Holland Farms - as run by me will not be re-opening.
I was offered a job back in my former profession and I could not say “no” - and honestly, I’ve been very happy doing that since September.
I am, however, looking into the viability of making Holland Farms products available - salsas, dressings etc. through a different location/venue and perhaps online - though shipping might be hard.
The salsas and dressings were popular and part of the reason, to be honest, is just so I can get them for myself.
LMK if that is something you may be interested in.
Other than that, thank you for a great 2 years and I may see you around town.

We will be officially closing for the season this afternoon - no later than 2:00.

I’m willing to sell some items this week while I take stuff down but would like to wrap things up - so…..

We will be officially closing for the season this afternoon. There is an outside possibility we’ll be open for a few hours tomorrow and I’m willing to sell some items this week while I take stuff down but would like to wrap things up - so…..

Happy Saturday, Old Lyme -
I finally got my friend and vendor, Jeff Musto (JM Musto Fruit & Produce, Hartford CT) to take a selfie with me and some corn.
Jeff has a summer house in Old Lyme and has been a great guy to me since I bought Holland Farms. He sells great stuff, introduced me to local farms I regularly do business with - when they’re not flooded, gives good advice, buys stuff at my place when he’s at the beach and sends his friends and neighbors to Holland Farms for produce/pies etc.
Today - he solved the corn problem and sold me enough to get through through the day and maybe part of tomorrow.
He also hooked me up with some local tomatoes from Gottas (Portland, CT).
It’s been a tough market for local and regionally grown stuff. Price is high, supply is limited and it’s been a headache.
So if you see this guy at the beach and you like the corn, you got him to thank.
Also - those guys at the Regional Market put in long, long days. Often at work at midnight and 1:00am. By the time I see them at 6/7 in the morning they’re beat. Fun crowd.

HAPPY FRIDAY, OLD LYME!
It looks like the start of a beautiful weekend.
Great stuff in from Flower Hour Farm (Old Lyme, CT) - love the flowers.
1738 Farm (Lyme, CT) - Again with FRESH BASIL, Dana! Already selling! And the tomatoes are almost gone too! Still have a few dozen eggs for someone…..
I’ll be in tomorrow with more corn (hopefully) along with fresh bread from Mozzicato’s (Hartford, CT).
Let’s hope this beautiful weather does indeed keep up. We earned it from what it was like this morning alone!

HAPPY TUESDAY, OLD LYME!
We’ve got this awesome! FRESH BASIL along with these great cherry tomatoes and eggs from 1738 Farm (Lyme, CT). Still wonderful corn coming in - 6 ears for $5 - Dozen for 10.
Heirloom tomatoes: I ate one yesterday - to sample and ensure quality. It was really outstanding. I’m pricing them to move this week.

Happy Saturday -
The morning was awesome but right now it’s rainy and stupid again outside.
However, it’s nice and bright in here.
Wonderful flowers, LOCAL TOMATOES (Gotta’s Portland, CT - thank you JM Musto Fruit & Produce! (Hartford).
We’ve got corn.
We’ve got bread.
But interestingly enough - no cornbread. You’re on own there.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Also - if you’re looking for a rainy day activity we’ve got watermelons. Carve something like the dogs in the pic and win a Holland Farms T-shirt.
If anyone’s down for tent co****le we can do that too. (See posts from previous rainy days).
If it thunders/lightening we may close temporarily.
If it’s not looking great we may close early - 5/5:30.
