This week’s onion harvest is in! These onions were planted last fall, overwintered in the field, and are now headed into the greenhouse where they’ll dry for the next two weeks. Until then, we’ll have fresh onions available in the farmstand.

We’ve also been busy harvesting chard, mint, cilantro, lettuce mix, and more for market this week. The recent rain has been a welcome boost, and the crops are responding. Our tomatoes are loaded with green fruit and beginning to size up, while the cucumbers are setting fruit and growing quickly.

Our pullets have just started laying, and their first eggs will be available this week.

This is the final week of our plant sale. All remaining plants are buy one, get one free.

Eating good, looking good- this is what the farmstand is all about. Fresh, vibrant produce taking center stage right where it belongs.

Sunrise starts, dirty boots, and another day in the books. Yesterday we moved the chickens onto fresh pasture, harvested lettuce, spinach, turnips, asparagus, microgreens, and scallions, planted popcorn, basil, broccolini, parsley, chamomile, calendula, fennel, zinnia, and thyme, and cultivated every bed on the farm.

This time of year feels like controlled chaos — every field changing by the day, every hour packed tight, and somehow there’s still more to do tomorrow. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

The farmstand is filling up fast with fresh harvests every week.

The chickens are back on pasture, sweet corn, tomatoes, and cucumbers are officially in the ground, and the asparagus is hitting its stride. Every week the farmstand fills up with more fresh organic produce as the season really starts to take off.

Our plant sale is still going strong with a great selection of tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, kale, herbs, flowers, and more still available. We are seeding and planting every week, and we are so excited to share the fruits of our labor with you all this season.

Things are really starting to take off here at Tempel Farms Organics. A couple of our fields are now fully planted with all kinds of brassicas — kale, kohlrabi, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and cabbage are all in the ground and growing strong. We also wrapped up onion planting with over 15,000 onions planted this season!

Our plant sale is in full swing with a beautiful selection of hardy vegetable starts, herbs, and annual flowers — all grown in certified organic soil with trusted varieties we use right in our own fields. 4” pots are $5 each while supplies last.

The asparagus is finally hitting its stride and will be available this week alongside fresh lettuce mix, head lettuce, spinach, turnips, radishes, and scallions.

We’re also expanding farmstand hours for the season:

Mother’s Day weekend plant sale is happening now at Tempel Farms Organics!

All of our seedlings are grown in certified organic soil with certified organic seed, using tried and true varieties we trust and grow right in our own fields. Through the month of May and into June you can find vegetables, herbs, flowers, and more at the farmstand. $5 for a 4” container.

A few seats on the transplanter, a couple thousand onions and shallots, and a long stretch of field ahead. Not much to look at yet but this is where the season earns its keep.

Backing the tractor out of the shed always feels like the real beginning. Fresh ground ahead, longer days, and that quiet sense that everything is about to take off. We’re potting up plant sale starts, onions and cabbage are hardening off outside, and the greenhouse is filling up fast. Lettuce, tatsoi, spinach, mizuna, turnips, and radishes are all coming in fresh at the farmstand. It’s an exciting time of the year!

Spring is showing up in all the right ways. The first real harvests are coming in strong: turnips, radishes, spinach, and our lettuce mix are looking as good as we could hope for this early in the season.

This is about as local as it gets. Grown right here in Old Mill Creek, picked fresh, and straight onto the shelves.

Farmstand is open Friday through Sunday, 9:00-4:00. Come see what’s coming out of the fields.

Spring lettuce mix is here and it was well worth the wait! Sown in early February, these greens took their time through the cold but came out tender, vibrant, and full of life.

The farmstand is waking up with the season, shelves filling in a little more each week. You can feel things shifting out here.

We will be closed Easter Sunday, so come through Friday-Saturday from 9 to 4 and stock up while it’s fresh.
