After many years, our time at Scott’s in Old Saybrook has come to an end. It’s bittersweet in every sense of the word. We have shed tears as we close this chapter. This place has been so much more than a business — it has been a home, a legacy, and the backdrop to some of the most meaningful moments of our lives.
Before us, this stand belonged to Will’s dad for 30 years. Then Will took over 16 years ago, and made it his own, we never could have imagined just how deeply rooted it would become in our family’s story. Our kids quite literally grew up here — summer days spent together at the stand, learning the value of hard work, laughter mixed in with long hours, and memories made that can never be recreated.
Every season brought something special, but Christmas was always our favorite. The entire family working side by side — making wreaths, selling trees, bundling up in the cold, and simply being together. Those moments were magic. The kind of magic you don’t realize how rare it is until you’re looking back on it.
This stand has seen so many springs, summers, falls, and Christmas seasons. It has held laughter, exhaustion, pride, love, and togetherness. It shaped our children, strengthened our family, and gave us memories that time can never take away.
While this chapter is closing, it isn’t the end of our story. We are eager to see how the next chapter unfolds, but the memories made here — the ones that shaped us — will always live in our hearts. They are irreplaceable and forever cherished.
Thank you to everyone who supported us through the years, who stopped by season after season, and who became part of our story. This stand brought so many amazing people into our lives. Many who have become like family to us. We are ever so grateful for that. We know the stand holds a special place in many people’s hearts. This past month we really enjoyed hearing many stories from customers just how special our place was to them. Scott’s in Old Saybrook may be behind us now, but what it gave us will always move forward with us. Good Bye Old Saybrook, and again we thank the community for being so supportive , kind, and loyal to us over the years. With every ending comes a new beginning. We are trusting in the Lord to see where he leads us.
Sincerely,
The Scott Family

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
