Meet one of our local mushroom growers - Shane Kenyon at Brown Bear Mushrooms 🍄

What started as a hobby five years ago has grown into a small farming business built on a love of growing fresh, high-quality mushrooms. After sharing his harvests with family and friends—and seeing how much they enjoyed them—he decided to bring them to the market. 🌿

You’ll find a variety of mushrooms at his stand, often harvested the night before or even the morning of market day to ensure peak freshness. His goal is simple: provide great mushrooms to happy customers and continue growing as a farmer.

Be sure to stop by, say hello, and pick up some incredibly fresh mushrooms this Saturday! See you then!

Come see us this Saturday at the Olean Farmers Market 🌿 We’ll have live music from Brian Lothridge from 10-12pm, Walsh’s Waffle Truck 🧇 and a fun hands-on kids craft even the adults will want to join in on! :)

Every purchase, conversation, and familiar face helps build the kind of community we want to continue growing here.

We’re working toward creating a thriving market filled with fresh food, handmade goods, and meaningful relationships — and that only happens when people continue to show up and support the vendors who make it possible.

There are so many reasons to support your local farmers market — from fresher food and supporting small businesses to strengthening our local economy and creating spaces for community connection. This Saturday, April 4 is our next “winter” farmers market! 10 am to 1 pm we’ll be at Miller’s Farm Market greenhouse with all kinds of local products, and we’re excited to welcome Alycié of Essentially Darling back for her first market since last fall!
