I’ve tried to write this post dozens of times over the last two weeks.
Then I had an idea I would just go live and say what came to me in the moment, but I’ve been too scared to do that too.
Bottom line? Callee1945 will be closing our Main Street storefront on June 1, 2026.
This is a decision I probably should have made a long time ago (and my accountant sure thinks so!)...
… but I’ve been too in love with it to let it go.
I’ve been in love with it before the first flooring was laid. Since the idea was just a vision… a dream of downtown Oneida and the space we could create.
I love the customers. I love the cheeses. I love the moment that those two things meet and someone experiences all that artisan cheese can really be.
The animals. The passionate makers, artisans, and chefs. Our neighbors and friends in business. If I tried to tag them, I’d be typing for hours.
This place changed my life and allowed me to pursue a crazy dream that I never expected. I don’t think Oneida expected it either.
I achieved everything I wanted. There’s been many many Friday nights that I’ve looked around and thought, “this is what it’s all about.”
The events. The funerals. Political rallies and celebrations. Baby showers. Weddings. (Oh, the weddings!) Thank you for allowing me to be a part of these moments. It’s been an honor beyond what you can imagine knowing that food I prepared nourished you during some of your most meaningful days.
I’ve got a lot more to say and I will be in the next several weeks. You’ll hear all about logistics, sales, future plans (no I’m not done with cheese quite yet!).
In the meantime, we’ll be open regular hours for now and will be adjusting throughout the month of May.
For now, thank you so much for being a part of this journey with us.
